How to change front coil spring

Car's just failed it's m.o.t on a broken front spring. I've ordered a new one. Anyone know how hard of a job the fitting is? I've got the day off on Friday to get it sorted with my dad. Any tips would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

best get a garage to do that bud, if you try and do it without the proper retaining tools the spring can come flying off with alot of force and potentionally seriously hurting you

Renault book time to fit one is 2.2 hrs and you have to take the full strut and hub off.

To be honest it can be done in an hour, regardless of book time we only charge 1-1.2hr labour.

Checked and my dad's got some spring compressors so it's being done on Friday. Got the workshop manual off her too so will have a look at that.
