Help with membership

I'm a bit confused, I had an email the other day saying my Gold membership was about to expire. But I thought I had a year left on it.

I've come on tonight and it says Gold Member under my name, but my name is now green (as in just standard membership). I can't access all areas like Gold and Platinum members either.

Surely I should have gone back to a normal non paying member?

If I'm still a paid member do I need to just upgrade again? Or do I need to buy from the beginning again?

EDIT: Just found out I did upgrade on 29 July 2010, so it has expired, but do I now upgrade or pay from a fresh because I've got a green name?
