Hi everyone,

I'm Rupes, aged 22 from Stratford-upon-Avon. I'm currently looking to buy a 197cup in white, and well excited about it!

Current car is a gti engined 106xsi, which I'll be keeping as a track car as at it's spec it's only good on a track as it keeps breaking down on the road!

So hoping the 197 will be the best of both worlds, look good, fun to drive and reliable..ish!

I'm going to try and resist modifying the clio too much as it'l be my everyday car. Although I may consider coilovers and wheel spacers to give it the planted look. Anyone know if the wheel spacers change the handling? ..for the worse?

Well test drove a cup in sheffield on monday, on first site looked amazing, but on closer viewing it had a few stone chips, resprayed front bumper owing to a scrape, both front tyres needed replacing, recaro's were worn and after the test drive with no aircon it was too hot to enjoy the car.. Got the price down a fair bit, but to be honest I wanted a car that was perfect for the money I was paying, and this one wasn't it.

So on tuesday i went to see a slightly more expensive cup with aircon from a renaultsport specialist near birmingham. Walked into his garage and all the renaultsports (about 10) were absolutely spotless! Including the clio which looked like it had never been driven, recaros were perfect, not a stone chip on the the car, and even had ipod connection which was icing on the icing! Picked it up this morning and I'm so chuffed with it! Great fun to drive and looks fantastic!! Will post pics soon!

Yeh was from DS cars, guy callled Dan runs the place, nice guy! Have plently of pics, away from home in London area at the moment, will upload them when i'm back on Sunday.
 
Hey Rupe, mine too was from Dan at DS Cars!
He has a nice thing going there hey, didn't recon my alloys properly though and all the paint in now coming off!!!! Not too happy about that.

Nice car anyway mate, it really suits White.
 
Oh gutted :s mine haven't been refurbed so should be ok! Yeh I wouldn't say no to his job. He's getting an Audi r8 v10, so he's doing something right!

Yeah, he's putting about £1000 - £1200 profit on each car he sells.
I know this as i know people in the trade and a good mate sold his Nimus 08 Cup to him, he didn't even tax it, wash it or service it and slapped a load on top, it sold in days...
I'm definitely in the wrong job :swear:

Of course he has to make a living and he does have an eye for very nice examples!
Mines Red with Anthracite Raiders and Sunroof, if you see me give us a wave.
