fitting standard suspension (front)

Hey,

So my coilovers have gone and now for the life of me I can not fit the front damper and.spring back the car! I have put the strut/spring and top mount together but i can't get it to fit back on the car i need like an extra few inches clearance so I.can drop the strut in.

any ideas? Its driving me mad!! If i knew it would be this hard to do such a simple job i would of paid someone!!

I think you can do it without dropping the subframe buts a bit of a pig so I'm told. Think you have to pop the driveshaft out the hub and remove the hub assembly too.

Hope it gets sorted mate

i would rather remove the hub and driveshaft....

then fit the damper to the hub assembly and refit driveshaft etc...

well thats how i do meganes

That's how I did mine too. I had a bit of trouble re-torquing the bottom balljoint nut (the shaft kept spinning and it has no way of stopping it) but got there in the end.

I'd imagine it's much easier than dropping the subframe.

Thanks everyone. was hoping i didn't have to pop the drive shaft off at one end but oh well. over complicated fresh crap haha. never had so much trouble either a car! Lol
