Engine Temperature

Looking through the forum history it seems like this was raised by a previous owner of my car. No: 129 F1 R27.

the temp gauge never gets above the first mark on the gauge even on a long run, which to me suggests the thermostat is not working correctly. Would anyone else agree with this, or is it more likely to be something else?

Yep thermostat is failing, they have quite low temperature thermostats.
Buy a genuine one from @renaultpartsdirect (I needed one urgently and got a good branded one, it failed so quickly, had a genuine since, been great).
