i'm pretty sure is was andy who is now at k-tec taht ran GDI and ran went with omex to super charge a clio mk3, but it blew up 3 times, if sean was about sure he'd vouch

haha It's hard to know what to say about this tho...

Really? I'd say it's quite easy. RS Tuning come across as a petty company who are taking a cheap shot at another company and one of their employees!

Clearly RS Tuning are jealous of the company in question, or just feel some need to publicly bad mouth the other company to try and score some brownie points with various forum users who think it's cool to slag off the company in question, and are using their Facebook page to do this.

It comes across as highly unprofessional! In business, if most people come across some other work which they don't agree with, they do their own work and just leave it at that. They don't go out of their way to publicly bad mouth the other party involved!

If RS Tuning have an issue with something from another company, they should have taken it up with them behind closed doors, not tried to air their dirty laundry in public.

ouch! not good at all. I just read all the fb comments...doesn't sound good for K-tec that's for sure!

think the point is being missed, point hes trying to put out there is the state of the map, now if that engine did go pop, pretty sure the said company wouldnt of paid out

Why K-tec wouldn't pay? As far as I'm aware they offer 1 year warranty, if the engine was about to go pop it'd definitely do so in the first 12 months...

cos tuners know that poeple like us do not have acess to mapping software, so w would be none the wiser

Apparently it's the law to offer a warranty on official upgrades (I'm not sure of the exact terminology), so it's not an offer of goodwill! Therefore, unless it could be proved that the engine failed as a result of the map/cams then they wouldn't pay out.

You'd be happy with the map then? Who knows how many people have this very map on their car, oblivious to the ticking time bomb they've been handed back.

It sounds like this isn't the first time it's happened and they obviously felt it was hight time people were aware of the quality of work being done.

You wouldnt say it's unprofessional to reveal dodgy builders ala "Rogue Traders" would you?? It's only the same thing.

I can catagorically tell you that that car was mapped and blown up by Richard at Omex, because he is totally deaf in one ear and partially deaf in the other, and cannot hear det. Andy had left Omex months before that work was even started. Chinese wisper ********

Danny what are your thoughts regarding the mapping on question? You do know your stuff so it'd be nice to hear an opinion from a specialist. Cheers.

I'm going to err on the side of caution with that one, this isn't my section, or an open discussion section afterall. I'll simply say those whos sole marketing technique is to berate others work, lack confidence in the substance of their own product. I suspect there's more to the story.

shut up swearing u fool!, im pretty sure Sean would differ

Not on fb and on iPhone but from what I can see it doesn't mention kTech. BUT I hate companies that publicly slate others.

HOWEVER, what if this is a number they have seen and spoke to them about only to be told mind your own business etc?

Should they keep stum or out them? If they did keep stum and it came out they knew, what would be said then?

Either way on the couple of paragraphs I can see it needs more info imo

It's nowhere near the same thing.

RS Tuning are using this as a way to try and gain some popularity / exposure, at the expense of another tuner, end of story.

They say it's happened before yet offer no proof. They present their side of the argument, yet offer no evidence that they've spoken with the other party and discussed this, or given them a chance to present their side of the story. If they discovered a problem, they should have told the customer and given them the chance to have it rectified by the original company, but they don't state they've done this.

As Dan has said, I suspect that there's more to this story, but I maintain that RS Tuning have behaved in an entirely unprofessional manner!

I'll simply say those whos sole marketing technique is to berate others work, lack confidence in the substance of their own product.

Well said, and couldn't agree with you more!
