Corbeau Side Mounts - Height Relative to OEM?

Hi, I'm looking at going down the Corbeau Revenge seat and side mount route with my track car. Does anyone happen to know whether the Corbeau side mounts (or any other side mounts for that matter) get the seat significantly lower than the OEM seats? I'd like to drop the seat height, as standard it's way too high, but just eyeballing it, if fixing the seat mounts to the floor bars, it looks to me that it would be quite high?

You can buy side mounts that have been designed to bolt straight to the floor, so you'll have them really low.

Contact Supreme Motorsport @R27WTF (a few others make them too, some on ebay by SW https://www.swmotorsports.uk/product/renault-clio-mk3-197-200-seat-side-mounts/
and a guy called Josh Wheeler on Facebook).

They will be fixed position though, to have ones that move you will need a mounting frame (OMP or Sparco) then you would bolt on a slider frame, then the generic sidemounts (but this will then of course add height to your seat).

Thanks for the reply, by 'straight to the floor' do you mean these bars that run across?



What I can't quite picture in my mind without having it all in front of me is if I bolt a side mount bracket to these, then bolt the seat to the bracket, how much lower than the stock seat will that put me?

Your car will have carpets (that have padding, so it looks flat) but yes it is to those bars.

It will be a LOT lower, why many people bolt straight to the floor, if it's anything like my E36 trackcar I gained (well lost) so much height by doing it than using a subframe and then mounts.

Looks awesome Chris, also I just fitted Josh Wheeler's steering column lowering kit, makes such a difference (and I am at standard Recaro seat height) so for you it will make a great difference!

Yeah I’ve seen them... honestly I like the steering position tbf lol
Only issue I have is the sabelt wheel is smaller so struggle to see tops of the speedo

I thought I did too, but I always had it at lowest setting, so now it's about 1/3 lower than top setting and seat is limiting factor!

Don’t worry it’s all useful stuff, I did wonder whether something like this was available to drop the steering wheel height so I’ve made a note and found the eBay ad for Josh.
