Clio 197 speedo needle stuck

Hi just wondering if anyones familiar. Today my Speedo needle wouldn’t go below the 30mph mark. It would move freely up and down when driving but wouldn’t go any lower. I’ve read a few threads and some people have had some issues. Am I crazy to think that because of todays heat 24° the tempered in the car would be hot enough to do something to the plastic possibly? Or is that nonsense?

Does it reset to zero when the ignition is off?

There’s a how to guide on removing the clocks. I’ve done it and it’s quite easy. Might be worth cleaning and checking the needle as a first go at resolving issue

I have looked at the threads and think I’ll tackle it today. It doesn’t reset to zero it stays just below 30 to start
