Clio 197 Cheap Door Card Project

I was not happy to pay for the carbon ones so I made a pair of these for my Clio 172 track car which I have fitted (see photos below) and I had to learn the hard way, research all the parts and work out where to drill all the holes, where the window switches go to not hit the glass, also I wanted to reach the window and mirror controls whilst in a harness. All this is painful and not the easiest. These are made from 3mm plastic and look really good and are a cheaper alternative to carbon. You can specify your options and I'll do the hard work for you!!

As I have sold a few doorcards with very good feedback, Cliosport.net asked if I would like to join the traders team so here I am. These doorcards can replace OEM standard door cards and maintain full OEM functionality - I am happy to make them to your specification.



So simply just choose from the options and extras below
Front Doors Cards Options
1. Supply basic Door Cards Delivered with no cut outs
2. Cut Holes for the standard door opening handles (the standard one)
3. Supply and mount the very neat door pull covers in the right place on the door card
4. Drill pilot holes around the outside of the panel in the right places to mount the card on the door

Extras (a, b, c, d)
a) Supply and mount the modified electric window switches
b) Drill holes for electric mirrors switch (drivers panel)
c) Supply the fasteners to mount the door card on the car, total of 10 fasteners per door. These are not the cheapest but they are much better the screws as they expand as you screw them inso you can take off the door cards with ease and they do not rattle which is worth it at only £6 per door (Stainless Steel Fasteners).
d) Supply the “door pulls” selection from £5 per side (choice of colours), £8 per side (motamec) to £12.50 (sablet) per door (£10 to 25) – this is at cost price

So select option 1 to 4 and then add on your extras a, b, c, d to your requirements

I now want to offer the same service for Clio 197/200 owners, I have brought a couple of doors and I am currently stripping them. Message me if you are interested in a set of door cards!

Option 1. Supply basic Door Cards delivered with no cut outs £50 delivered (£25 a door)

I will confirm all the rest when I have finished the project.

Ok, template completed now, many hours fiddling around getting the shape right and the correct hole positions for the door pull and standard door handle, going to give the door pull cover, door pull and the standard window switch as all options.
Making progress, next cutting the door card material and fitting!

Nice weather today so more progress, panels cut and a pretty good fit to the door

Also @Zuban asked about weight
Original door panel weight = 2.656kg + fixings 0.323kg = 3kg

One of the door panels (without holes) = 1.4kg (so approx 1.5kg saving per door)
Next the door handle, neat door pull surround and standard electrical switch mounting.
Now trial fitting to the door. Standard door handle fitted (bolts at a weird angle), door pull fitted and standard window switch retained. Next drilling a fixing to the door!!

Ok tonight I started drilling holes, I use nice fasteners and they make all the difference in the look (stainless steel hexagon allen bolts). I stay away from self taping screws, as you may want to take off the panels again. OEM functionality maintained and looking good, pleased with the profile. Passenger door completed , just noticed I missed a bolt. Next drivers door.

Ok drivers door striped


Driver side panel made and window switches and mirror switches mounted, next drilled holes and fitting.

Panel looking good, material is flexible and you do not have to worry about cracking it or over tightening bolts, whereas the carbon ones would crack. Happy with them.
