Car turns over but won't start

Apologies if this is a repeat question, I have looked but can't find anything specifiec to my problem.

I have been having trouble with the battery, so I placed a new one in the car. The car now turns over but will never fire or start. I think this could be related to a immobiliser issued due to it being without a battery for a while.

I have tried starting it with the key in the holder on the dash near the start button and the key fob seems to work (i.e. all the buttons are working when I press them).

Does this sound like immobiliser issues, and is there something I need to do to get the immobiliser working again?

I'll check tomorrow, it's a small buzz I think isn't it. It did go a while ago and I had to have a new one in so I hope it's not that again
