brakes binding

just had its 3year service the mechanic said the
rear offside brake is slightly binding he says it would
have been like that when it came out of the factory
would that be right?
he said it needs taking of and re greasing is this correct?

Yes and Yes

if its been binding since new it would have worn the pads away.......

alot of it is due to corrosion on the brake parts - they need removing cleaning lube-ing and refitting

I always leave my handbrake off and in gear if its sitting still for a while, otherwise they tend to initially seize to the disc.
