Bonnet Vents

Anyone remember the gentleman who had a LY 197/200 with Bonnet Vents put on recently?

Would like to know who it was again! I wish to know where the vents come from.

Moved this to the appropriate forum.

Focus RS vents are quite big.
Escort cosworth vents are quite big (although probably very expensive lol)

is for when you turbo it kaz?

Yes, I've been putting a shopping list together for a while now. Still dreaming, but getting closer to a reality. Feels like forever since I said I was going to turbo it! Mind still hasn't changed at all, I've been trying to figure out for months whether I should pile it all in at once and get it done or just do bits and bobs in the meantime. I've got my belts to do next September and I don't want anyone but ClioTurbo or RSTuning to do it and since I want to turbo it, I'm going to go with the latter and just get it done the same time as the belts. It's an excuse also as the Mrs. isn't keen on it lol!

Damn, I was hoping you knew exactly what they were as I don't want to take a gamble ordering. Could you perhaps find the seller or link for me from your order history @litchy ? Would be much appreciated.

It doesn't help that ClioTurbo now want 5.5K for the Stage 3.

Up by £500. Not much, but makes you think a little harder about it.

Any chance you can check your order history for me @litchy

was bought from a private seller. I'll send him a message to see where he got them from. Not sure the conversions are the same value as previously. With the price of 250's and 200t coming down, given the value of your car, you could have 13k in your car. It's better for those who are starting with a cheap 197.....

You don't need vents unless it's been turboed. The stock engine temps are fine. You'll only put the electrics at risk of water damage. If you later turbo it and finding temps too high, then put vents in.

I'm not sure what you mean buddy?

You recommend doing it afterwards Stephen, not before?

Yes I would. You are going for a turbo kit which has been specifically designed for the clios, therefore temps might not be an issue, where as Wilson is running a meg engine where temps do seem to be a problem.

I wouldn't turbo it if I had your car especially if it's a proper limited model, would lose too much money if or when it came to selling it.

Also mate, neither conversion is plug n play. It's taken me 3 years to get it close to being close to being right. This is why most sell them on I recon as they lose patience with the niggles....

Kinda makes sense that a Gordini should have extra ummph. No sense for Renault to use it as a Sport Styling considering it's heritage.

What kind of niggles have you had mate?

How about Lancia Delta Integrale vents?

It will be interesting to see my temperatures when my turbo conversion is done. I'm going for >400bhp.
