Alloygator - Rim Protectors

In case anyone is thinking of fitting these - I did and very much regret it.

I have an RS 200 with Speedlines. As you'll know these are very vulnerable to kerbing. So, after seeing the ad I bought a set. I had them fitted to newly refurbished wheels at the same time as new tyres were being fitted by my tyre specialist. Here are my experiences over one year:

- They are difficult to fit. Even though my fitter saw the video and spoke with the supplier, the fit was never as tight as the advert shows.
- Dirt/grit gets between the rim and the protector
- There is an ugly bulge at the joint
- The protector eventually moves further way from the rim with mileage
- It all looks unsightly
- The front n/s rim protector (on the tyre that does the most flexing) eventually separated and damaged the bodywork
- So, then I had them all removed
- I contacted supplier for help/advice - they just procrastinated, so eventually gave up.

Yes, they might protect against some rim damage but just not worth the cost, hassle and compromised appearance, IMO
