hi was going to buy some 60mm exhaust tips for my 197 but was wondering if they would just slip right on? since the exhaust is cut at a angle

was thinking of getting these
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/CHROME-EX...pe:197&hash=item58a251fdf0:g:yHgAAOSwAuNW8WTL

how would i go about putting these on would i just slip them on and bolt on? or do i need to get someone to cut the exhaust straight

want it to look more like clio200 rear end but dont want to spend a ton.

and ive heard the rs tips look like pea shooters.

also if they are crap tips could anyone recommend me some decent ones?

also anyone got tips for me to help avoiding melting my diffuser haha!

They just slip on, no cutting or any mechanical knowledge required. Although, I wouldn't bother, it would look rubbish. Cheap and nasty.
If you want a 200 rear end, spend the cash and get the diffuser and exhaust covers that attach to them.

Have you got a standard exhaust?

I fitted these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-5-63mm-...hash=item3a689c13b4:m:mQ6HJUFbVVavQZ7T5_wcr5A

Fitted they do look like pea shooters but an improvement.

You can fit them without removing anything (even the diffuser) by feeding your hand in from the side (behind the wheel).

I then got a Milltek for a 200 fitted to my 197 so needed some new tip as the Milltek was a different diameter, I bought these http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-or-va...tension-race-trim-tip-cover-X2-/350976213901? and they look cheap and nasty, once fitted they look ok - necessary to stop any diffuser melt .

Thanks for replies soon as i got them i was rushing to put them on and wasnt thinking properly so i filed the inside out of them as they was the exact same tips as ones many people got in this thread from a few years ago: http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?20342-Different-exhaust-tips

But then i didnt realise you have just just give them a good push to get them on so i thought they was a bit too small so decided to cut 2cm off one of the tips as it was sticking out about 2cm (i cut the bit the slips over the exhaust not the bit you can see)
but then for some reason i just thought i maybe got the wrong ones and gave up as they still wouldnt go on properly.

So i came back to this thread: http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?20342-Different-exhaust-tips and read that you just file the inside down best you can and give it a good whack they should go and and cover up all the exhaust . so i tried that and it worked

the one on the left is a bit loose as its the one i cut so i think im going to just order another one as im scared it could fall off because its not on very tight compared to the driver side one. maybe for now i could just cut some slits into it and jubilee clamp it on?

The drivers side one seems ok and from reading the other thread a lot of people say you dont need to bother clamping it on as its a very tight fit.

for the price they look pretty good from a distance but soon as you get quite close you can tell they are cheap etc...

Let me know what you think.
