172/182 or 197/200

What would people say is the better car and why a ph2 172/182 or the 197/200.
im in two minds to either keep the bumble bee or get a 172/182 as we are seriously saving for a house

Drove a 182 today. Much preferred the 197 in terms of comfort and handling.

Running costs aren't too dissimilar if I'm honest.

I've had a 197 cup, 197ff and currently in a £2000 172 cup. It's definatly a much more fun to drive and miles better on fuel (excuse the pun) I get 40mpg easily! The only downside is its more of a 'young lads car'

It depends what ya doing... I much prefer my 200 for going for a blast on country roads but the 172 is so much more enjoyable on track. It's a different beast all together. 200 is much more refined (even before the 172 got stripped)

If my 200 had to go then I would buy another 172/182 for a daily. These cars are addictive lol

im not botherd about being a young lads car just need to save some cash, i like a rb 182 or black gold or a 172 cup

I was faced with this very dilemma...couldn't afford the 197, so had to get rid. Swapped with a guy in Plymouth for my BG 182 and cash my way.

No regrets at all, truth be known, I prefer it lol

Older car more problems, wear, less reliable money you'd save tidy probably have to put back into the car every so often. 6 and two 3s really

having a 172 and 200 myself iv had the 172 for 2 months now and driven it and grand total of 6 times because it's old and broken haha

I've had both , my 182 was mega fun even after I took the itbs and cams off it , they feel really light and chuckable and there abit better on fuel tho not by much really

200 is a much nicer place to be and to drive , gos better then a stock 182 and handling is better tho the 182 handles well the 200 gives u far more confidence to drive it on

It was a tough call picking one to keep as I had both for a month lol ended up picking the 200 tho

Haha I know what you mean. The B-pillar is like an extension of the seat which is great when I'm cornering hard left!

Go for 197 or 200.

172 and 182 were great car but they had a hard life now but you don't know who owner by in the past. They are old, getting cheap too and remember have spent more money to fix it.

It up to you.
