´74 Datsun 240Z

Hi there,
i thought someone may be interested...
Me and my father actually started a restoration of our Datsun 240Z, basically it´s 1974, 70.000 km, R6 2,4l.
Engine and transmission is in good condition, brakes are hardly working and body is in very bad condition, whole floor is rusted.
The main goal is to make it driveable and nice, as much as money allow.

Mate are you having a laugh, why did you put this thread up. You are making it hard for me to talk myself out of buying one now!! Lol. Just put an offer in for a 2jzgte, ecu, wiring, all ancills, turbos, rear diff and axle now to find a z to put it in....

Unfortunately, it´s not actually ours. After we will have it done, we will sell it. Had to make a decision between this and the clio, and I chose the clio to stay.

Friend down the road from me used to have a black one of these, it was race prepped in the end when he was done with it. Was a truly epic car!

Work continues at the weekend: got to take out the exhaust, transmission, rear diff, electrical circuit... Pfuuf lots of work there.

Some more work done on the Z...
Transmission out, with a small leakage over the floor
Taking out the rear sway bar took me about an hour, fortunately the front was OK. Also steering box, exhaust and electrical loop are out...
Only the rear differential and gas tank are left, and it will be ready to go out for welding :thumbup1:
