Hi all, I have climate control in my 197 and the air-con is obviously not working....or not getting cold anyway. I’ve been reading that the condensers go quite often in these, is there any way of checking if it’s this or if I just need a re-gas? Thanks, Jamie

Hi all, Can anyone explain how to remove the high level brake light from a 197? Pretty sure the bulbs have gone so I need to get it out to check and replace if necessary. I’ve removed the two black grommets and can see a couple of clips in there but how do you get them to pop out? Pretty sure...

Ah yes, it’s the bonnet alarm cable (one with the plug), thanks for that. Where does the battery breather connect to the battery box, it makes sense as I was buggering about with that today Failing that I’ll try the scuttle drain but it feels like it’s too small a diameter.

Hi all, I removed my battery box today to fit some upgraded bulbs and there were two wires / cables that didn’t seem to be connected to anything? I took a couple of photos - does anyone know what these are for....are they meant to be disconnected? Cheers

Thanks for the replies chaps. I have the option of going for 197 or 200 cup dampers (early 200’s) as I’m changing them all. Any advantage of 200 dampers over 197’s or should I just stick with the 197 cup shocks? I think Cup spring rates were the same between the two?

Also, would I have to change the top mounts to a later type if putting the later 200 cup dampers on? I’m reading that the later 200’s had a narrower top to the front spring so not sure if it’s even possible to retrofit 200 suspension to a 197?? Sorry, I’m new to this

Hi all, Just wondering if a set of 200 cup dampers will fit a197 and if these are seen as an upgrade over the 197 Cup items? Am I right in thinking the 200 cup units are slightly stiffer? Anyone made this change?

Hi all, I may well want to replace the front wing (ns) and front bumper of my recently acquired 197. Any views on the best place to by these parts?
