random Q - is it supposed to auto lock or do you always have to use the card to lock it?

Hi all, just got a 197 (2007) and noticed on a hot start it will sometimes splutter and die. If I start again with a bit of throttle its fine. Runs fine no hesitation and power seems ok. any thoughts? cheers.
