After 750 miles of driving at 40mpg, my clio would hesitate more than normal when pulling away and just run a little rough. An Italian tune up soon sorted it. :)

When you say they removed a 'stubborn' locking wheel nut.. How hard did they hit it? Maybe knocked a wheel speed sensor or some such thing?

I was there, but nit in my Clio :( I did try to find you to say hello! You just need more confidence, the exit of a corner is far more important than the entry, slow in fast out and keep it smooth. 197's respond best when really thrown about. You'll be amazed at how quick they are on track...

If you're going to siphon out the fuel from your tank, make sure the tank is higher than the container you're siphoning into. Park your car on a high curb, ramps or something. Get a 3 meter length of clear, reasonably stiff tubing. It makes life a lot easier. :)

Interesting post Fox, myself and my passengers have all noticed my car will pull harder from 5k Rpm Its not a 'kick' as such, not like Vtec or Toyotas VVti, but enough to lift the nose of the car a little more. I like it anyway ;)

It's exactley that! It is the same as Vtec, just activated in a different way. At 5000 Rpm, the dephaser pulley turns the whole inlet cam a few degrees allowing the valves to remain open longer. It makes more power above 5K rpm hence the kick.

Haha! its not too bad tbh, it's a FF so not as hardcore and I've managed 40+mpg and now I've fitted an Aux cable to the Cabasse for my iPhone I'm all set :)

I normally don't care but as the Renault is now my only car it's taken up the baton for bi-monthly 500 mile+ trips to the midlands. 1500- 2000 miles a month at the mo :D

Haha! I wasn't doing anything too extreme tbh, just resisting the urge to use too much throttle and not going above 3k rpm
