Collapsed drive pulleys on ac pumps is a known problem. Renparts sell loads. I posted a video of the close call a customer had on an ly 197 last year.

I've had LOTS of issues with AT. They're not very well put together

I've got Johns LY 200 in at the moment after an issue that had originally looked like it was boiling brake fluid! After changing all the lines, bleeding the fluid, and replacing the very worn out disks and pads for a long planned Performance upgrade package, the issue went away...

you're right it's not, but it's a milestone and a fork in the road. They're either about to fall part, or very well maintained, with very little in the middle. I see some shockers

60k is pretty much the make or break milage IMO. You can tell a good or bad one at that point within 2 minutes of putting it in the air

not worn out, not perished......I don't see why you'd change them. If the sidewalls are cracked then yes, get them swapped but otherwise it's just for the sake of it.

you don't need to unwind the piston, it's only for pushing them back that you need to wind them. Re-fit it to the car (just on the hose, not fully) and push the pedal until it pops out
