Nah my mate at works brought a brand spanker an in 18 months/20,000 miles its had aircon pipes, a radiator, coolant hoses an to top it of the diff bearings have just ****ed up so its had a gearbox an this car hardly ever goes above 3000rpm so i'll stick to me renault :)

well i got back from cornwall, 325 miles on 40 quid in my 172. My 197 would get no where near that! An tbh as much as i like my 197 i kind of wished i'd tested some other motors first

i dont understand what can be so hard, providing your using the correct renault timing tools an work precedure you can't muck it up!

haha it does look a bit of an up an down circuit but sure looks fun an the clio looks like a capable car. I did a few days in my 172 last year an look forward to getting out in me 197 before I go the ring in july. What are you using to film?

Tbh if theres any play in the waterpump pulley its usually worth replacing but tbh if its driven off the cambelt i'd do it as a matter of caution because if it let go an the belt slipped or lost tension there would be valve piston contact which is gonna cost £££££.

Yea, I had them on the front of my old 172 an they were great. Once there fitted thats the brakes done! Then onto the suspension :)
