    Slight pulling to the left....

I would also just check that your brakes are not binding slightly on one side and causing it to pull one way. If you raise the car slightly you can check by just spinning the wheel and ensuring it free wheels nicely with no interference from the brakes.

Horn not working - 197 Cup

I'm only getting a rather pathetic single tone from mine, would have expected a two tone on a 197, any ideas if it is supposed to be two tone or not?

    jerky jerky

Doesn't seem to be mentioned here, but let the car start and idle for at least a minute preferably 2 or 3 especially in cold weather, then drive steady for the couple of miles until engine temp starts to rise. Never have the kangarooing issue when I do this, but I do get it when I get in and...

    driving in the snow tips

Just to re-iterate the very good advice being given here: Don't be lazy... go out 10 minutes before you want to leave and clean all your windows properly before setting off and... Look further ahead than the end of the bonnet - observations need to be way ahead and plan for the worst...

    window tints

All fronts from B pillar forward generally will already have the maximum tint allowed ie: graded AS1 windscreen and AS2 front sides. This tends to be the standard manufactured glass now. This is a 25% tint on windscreen and 30% tint on sides. Adding any extra tint puts you on dodgy ground...

    kangaroo-ing when cold

Ben, If you don't mind me asking, what sort of cost is involved in this. Not fussed about the performance side of things, I just want to try and smooth out the cold start kangarooing issue as the wife struggles with it and isn't as patient as me - to sit a few minutes to let it warm first!

    Request-How to Change front discs?

Ok, got that. Also, in the past on non ABS vehicles, I've just loosened off the reservoir cap when pushing pistons back in to allow the fluid to be pushed back through the system. With some ABS vehicles it is not recommended that you do that and the bleed valves on each wheel assembly should...

    Hi....New to 197.net and Renault!

Ahh, Ok. Won't be messing around with mine, like to keep things standard. Will certainly give the Hankooks a look when I change though, sounds as though are a good option.

    Hi....New to 197.net and Renault!

Yes, I love the colour. It was that combined with the wheels that made me drive the 200 miles to buy this car! Unfortunately I have got a right 'ole mix of tyres at the moment - one of my pet hates actually! There are Pirelli Pzeros on the front, , then a conti sport 3 and a cheapo but...

    Request-How to Change front discs?

Do you actually need the 12mm allen key if you are only changing pads? Looks as though to access the pads it's just the retaining pins and the retaining spring that have to be removed??

    200cup steering wheel

I kind of agree with you on this one. I like the wheel and it's a great soft leather finish, comfortable to hold, but I also find it a bit.....well..fat. :'( I like a thinner rim too. I think I just find the thinner grip a little less clumsy when steering work gets a bit quicker! Not a...

    Hi....New to 197.net and Renault!

Yeah, MPG could be better but hey...something's gotta give eh! Think I'm getting about 27mpg on average on the computer. Worked the last tank of fuel out manually and it actually was 28.13mpg, so not too bad really. A fair bit of town and open road mixed up in there. I'm using the Tesco...

    Hi....New to 197.net and Renault!

Hi Guys and thanks for your comments. Nice to have such a welcoming and informative place to research any issues I have with the car. Already answered a few questions that I couldn't bottom out from reading the manuals, so I'm very grateful for that. Found the fact that I couldn't end...

    Hi....New to 197.net and Renault!

Hi, Just bought my first Renault ever, a Clio 197. Been looking around for something small, sporty, quick and a bit special, and the 197 certainly seems to fit the bill. Only had the car about 3 weeks so still getting used to it and enjoying it. Mines a 2008 which has just done about...
