    Changing handbrake cable

No problem mate. I brought mine separately from Renault was around £40, there’s only two cables one to each side. I brought OEM as I’ve had problems with aftermarket cables and them being the wrong length before.

    Changing handbrake cable

Bit Stange mate but I had the exact same problem thursday night when I changed my rear pads. Like you, thought it might be a pig of a job but it didn’t take very long at all in the end. Take the big bit of plastic that surrounds the handbrake off, undo the adjustment nut as much as it will go...

    retrofitting tom tom...

Hi Ryan, I retro fitted the TomTom into my 197, not a very easy job as the wiring is completely different. I just made a new separate loom for the TomTom as it needed to be fitted into the cars CAN Bus. You will need- TomTom Screen Screen Surround Radio Loom Multimedia Interface Box GPS Car...

    Cabasse audio system speakers

As above, I completely removed the system all together. The holder under the seat is only held in with a couple of rivets, drill them out and it all comes out. You will need to take your seat out to do that though. I did it so i could put a small under seat sub there.

    Cabasse audio system speakers

It's pretty easy to swap the cabasse system for an aftermarket system if you wanted to. The original cables are just extended from behind the dash to under the seat. The only cable I had to buy an extension for was the aerial, as that just reaches under the seat.

Yes mate, that’s all I used mine for. Worked pretty well if you’re not bothered about changing songs with the steering controls. Luke

can i fit a ipod lead ?Picture

Hi, As above you do have the Cabasse system, I had one in my 197 when I brought it. The actual tuner and amp is under the driver’s seat, it’s just a cd changer in the dash. You can fit and AUX lead, I did it before I swapped it out for an after market system. I used this guide, hope it helps...

changing clocks from 197 to 200

Not unless it was just my local Renault garage being awkward, doubt it was though as they have been good with everything else. There’s not much to configure on them if they came out of a 200 Cup and go into a 197 Cup and vice versa. If you take them out of a Cup and put them in a FF, cruise...

changing clocks from 197 to 200

It was me mate, I got a friend to do mine. I did try and approach Renault, but they told me to do one unless I brought a new set of dials from for around £600. Gave me some legal reason why they wouldn’t do it.

    Engine Temperature (Not Warming Up)

I did about a 10mile round trip with it off Ryan, some in stop start traffic. This was the result when i got home. I might be wrong but if the cars not getting up to temperature, around 75c then there should be no coolant being circulated around the radiator so having the climate on shouldn’t...

    Engine Temperature (Not Warming Up)

I did read that thread Paul, but it’s not really that conclusive though. Just wondering what other people have been getting. I tried it with the climate/AC off earlier as Ryan suggested and no change at all. Just sits slightly above quarter way I guess. Il have to see if I can borrow a...

    Engine Temperature (Not Warming Up)

Yeah I’ve got climate Ryan, il give it a go later on and see how it goes. It always seems to warm up enough to raise the rev limiter but still only just sits on the first line, a 1/4 I guess. Cheers

    Engine Temperature (Not Warming Up)

Hi Everyone, I’m hoping someone could help, I’ve had my 197 for a while now and I’ve never seen the engine temp gauge go anywhere above the first line. Is this normal what do the rest of you get? Should I be looking at getting the stat changed? Cheers Luke

    Folding Wing Mirrors

Hi Everyone, Does anyone know if I leave my folding wing mirror switch in the fold position, do they automatically fold in and out when locking and starting the car? Just not sure if it’s supposed to on a 197? Cheers Luke
