Replacement Front Coil Spring or H&R all round? (Cup Chassis)

Hi Guys, I know this has been done to death but here we go. My front OS coil spring has broke on the Clio, so I've got a few options. I can get a single second hand one for around £50. Not the best option but the cheapest to get me back on the road. I have the Cup chassis so a pretty good...

    New Belts Time, Lincolnshire Area!

Cheers for the info guys, id already pretty much decided to do it myself, this just confirms it. Chris did you buy the tools from Renault or 3rd party ones? The car needs an MOT at the same time, so today id thought id ring up my local Renault dealer to get a price for it all (just for the...

Removing front seats require battery to be disconnected

Yeah easy enough mate, I just soldered in a couple of 3.3ohm resistors from work. Cost less than a few pence each, just look at the seats you take out and find out which pins go to the anti submarining airbag in the seat base and put the resistor there instead of it. I didn't take any pictures...

    Laguna auto dipping mirror

I've got one in the garage that I tried to get working a while ago, but no use. I brought the 3 wire unit that had a ground for reverse but had no luck finding any wiring diagrams to set it up. If you do find out I wouldn't mind knowing so I could get it in. Cheers Luke

Removing front seats require battery to be disconnected

I didn't disconnect the battery at all when I took both my front seats out, I added in the resistor at the same time when I fitted mine. I'm pretty sure the airbag system is disabled when the ignition is off anyway, so wouldn't worry about it. If it's not I didn't have any problems at all and...

    Need rear view mirror pics!

I assume one would be for a car with auto wipers and lights and the other without. Ive got auto wipers so mine is number two in that picture if that helps. Luke

Retro fitting dash display into 197

I did it, was a complete ball ache to be honest. Glad I did it though, I put the TomTom Live unit in mine and its great, plus I don't have to stick things to my windscreen now. Unless you find one with a wiring loom, aerial and multimedia interface I wouldn't even bother...

    Engine temperature?

According to Renault, the 75°c one is correct for my car mate. It has a different part number to the 182 variant, so I think it's the original. Not sure about the RS 200 though, could have the 89°c from standard.

    Engine temperature?

Unless the Renault garage messed up when I asked them, it was £16.83 + VAT for the 182 version, less than half the price of one for a 197 around £45+VAT when I asked. I think they must of made a mistake with the price though, can't see why a 197 one would be so much more. Part number for the...

    Engine temperature?

Hi Guys, Thought I’d post my finding as I’ve just changed my stat. The original one i took out was a 75c one. The new 182 thermostat (89c) on the left and the old 197 one id just taken out in the right. Really easy to do thanks the quick guide provided by Chrisgti6, managed to...

    Engine temperature?

Looks like il be changing my thermostat for the 89c one from the 182, before I go ahead and do it, does anyone know why the 197 came with the 75c. Is there any reason for it, I assume running a little hotter shouldn't be a problem? Chrisgti6 I take it yours has been working fine with the...

    Engine temperature?

No mate, that price was just for the thermostat and new seal from Renault Parts. £40 seems pretty good fitted, even if I brought the thermostat id probably need another £12 for 5L of Type D coolant to fill it back up with, so that price is good.

    Engine temperature?

Think il give that a go to and get mine changed, can I ask where you got your thermostat from and how much? Cheers Luke

    Engine temperature?

I see what you mean, so does the radiator constantly have a flow of water through it? Does the volume just increase when the correct temperature is met via the stat? or do you mean cooling by simply blowing cold air into the engine bay. Sorry to be a pain mate, just trying to weigh up...

    Engine temperature?

I'm interested in the outcome of this, as I posted a thread about exactly the same a while ago. http://www.clio197.net/forum/showthread.php?t=20000 Car still sits at the same temperature with or without the climate on, just on the first line (same as the first picture). Even with the...

Standard 197 seats to replace 200 Recaros

I don't think you will have to do anything, the standards seats have an extra Anti submarining air bag in the base; but due to your car having Recaro's which don't, it shouldn't even care if its there or not. I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure you will get no lights after you swap them over...
