Oil leak at the front of the engine

I’m not massively clued up on the F4R just yet, but if it’s leaking from the cam cover then shouldn’t it be as simple as removing it and fitting a new gasket? Could be wrong like.

    225/45 instead of 215/45 - Softer Ride?

Totally agree, I won’t be going with 225’s again. Had them on a couple of weeks now and prefer the feel of the 215’s.

    Knock/bang on throttle and brakes.

No I haven’t fixed the issue with the bolt. I think it’s probably been over tightened at some point and stretched the bolt. But I’ve not had the noise again since it happened straight after I’d changed the gearbox mount and took it out for a drive (hopefully I haven’t just jinxed myself)

    EBay control arms

The bush that connects to the chassis at the front. As you can see in the vid it has a fair bit of play and this translated to even more movement at the wheel. I had to put the old arm back on until the new OEM arms arrive.

    EBay control arms

FYI - purchased a pair of control arms from eBay. One of them has lasted five months and I’m sure the other one isn’t far behind. So don’t be like me and buy rubbish.

    225/45 instead of 215/45 - Softer Ride?

I had some 225 45 17 potenza sports fitted at the weekend and I’d say they’re a bit softer, so I just hardened up the coilovers a bit :thumb:

    Knock/bang on throttle and brakes.

Interesting find when changing my gearbox mount today. While I was in there I thought I’d check the torque on the two bolts that hold the plate to the chassis. The lower bolt was fine while the upper (circled in red in image) was not. So I started to turn it but it wasn’t feeling right, so I...

Had a go earlier today and it came out with no issues at all :thumb:

Very interesting @turkie172 are these washers with centring collars easy to come by? I’ve not seen them before.

Is this gearbox mount seen it’s day?

Looks really tight to get a bar in. Someone else mentioned hitting down on the bolt using a socket and extension with a hammer.

Is this gearbox mount seen it’s day?

I wonder if I could use my bearing puller kit in some way to pull the mount of?

Is this gearbox mount seen it’s day?

Best order a new one. What’s your thoughts on getting a power flex insert to go with it? (Road series one, not black)

Can anyone tell me if this mount should go in the bin? Is the play in it normal or excessive? https://youtube.com/shorts/3kkCWQ0crsc?feature=share I hope they above link works

    Buckets with seatbelts

It’s just the buckle of the standard seat that just happens to fit useing a hole on the puretrack seat mounts. I also have a sparco Rev with generic side mounts so I drilled a hole to make them fit. Idea came from seeing how the r26r is setup.

    Buckets with seatbelts

I’ve got mine setup like this with a harness eye bolt so I can clip the harness on when I need it. I’ve also got large square washers on the back to add extra strength.
