    197 R27 rod caps failure (30k miles) - confirmed

I was stopped for about 2 months, but the lifters were never removed. The followers were all checked, though. On startup it was not knocking, only when it started warming, so that doesn't really fit into empty lifters, right? I'd rather look into the rods first than having a try at filling the...

    197 R27 rod caps failure (30k miles) - confirmed

I fitted it myself. Everything aligns (cams) and locks (crank) correctly, according to workshop guide and using the right tools (from ebay, but still specific for the F4R engine). When hand spinning the engine without spark plugs everything goes smoothly. The noise only started to be...

    197 R27 rod caps failure (30k miles) - confirmed

Unfortunately not! It was the last thing I thought of. I'm not planning on starting it again before having checked the bottom end. But I wil try to make a vid once the oup pan is out. When looking at a service manual that I found on the internets I can find almost every section for the F4R...

    197 R27 rod caps failure (30k miles) - confirmed

Some time ago I changed the oil and went for a weekend in the mountains. Had good fun driving until a knock started on the top end (it was noticeable that it came from the top). A new dephaser pulley was ordered... Noe, the new dephaser pulley is installed and the top end tick seems to be gone...

    R27 #2392 from Portugal

Well, New dephaser pulley installed and the top end tick seems to be gone. Trouble is that I'm also getting a tick from the bottom end when it warms up. Next step will be to check the oil and and remove the pan to check the rod big ends for play. Is it common for the oil pump to give? That...

    How to unlock steering wheel

Well... Apparently if you look for stuff when it's not pitch black outside and having had someone pointing exactly where to look helps a lot!!! Thanks a lot for the help! :D

    How to unlock steering wheel

I need to pay more attention then! Even reading the users guide (it's in Spanish, not Portuguese, since it's an import) I didn't found reference to the slot. Thanks for the tips!

    How to unlock steering wheel

From what I've noticed, bellow the start/lock/hazard buttons on the right side I only have the cover for the ODBII socket. But I'll check again. Being a left hand drive car would make any difference on the location of some items?

    How to unlock steering wheel

Hi guys, I've got a hands-free/keyless 197 that I've recently bought and last weekend while having some fun in a mountain road the engine started ticking. Pulled over and called the insurance. I think it's the dephaser that gave up (though it ticks really loud, compared to some Tube videos I've...
