Squeeky clutch pedal? GET IN HERE!

Just noticed this thread and figured I should chip in. I seem to have cured the clutch pedal squeak in my 2010 200. I traced the squeak back to the pin that the pedal pivots on. I was hoping to be able to unscrew the pivot pin, take the pedal out, lube liberally, and reassemble. But nooooo -...

    Clio 4 Rs - Mapping!

It's a shame Renault/Getrag don't use the same logic as BMW. The gearbox in an e36 325 is apparently good for 800 bhp, same goes for most of the BMW gearboxes. It's like, to BMW, it is totally unthinkable to have lots of gearbox failures. Renault are like, meh, we might get a few back...

Does anybody know the static noise test dB for a rally or cup racer?

    Clio 4 Rs - Mapping!

I guess we'll find out its limits soon enough. I realise teeth/bearings etc have limits, but wondered if in this case the 'box was electronically protected in some way. Roll on bigger turbos and rude power figures.

    Clio 4 Rs - Mapping!

How does the gearbox limit torque? Is this the mechanical limit of the Getrag gearbox (as in, it breaks if you shove more torque through it) or, is it a clever electronic torque sensing widget that talks to the ecu and throws a paddy if you endanger the gearbox? Also, in terms of horsepower...

    How loud?

I'm planning to make a replacement back box for my 200 that does away with any silencing. I can weld/fabricate etc. Will use straight ss pipe to run from the mid section to one of the rear diffuser outlets and support accordingly. Call it a back box delete, if you will. The centre box and cats...

Will a re-map improve fuel economy?

you need to confirm the statement "running rich".... not sure what you mean by this. A rich air/fuel mix has more fuel A lean air/fuel mix has less fuel I forget the target mass ratio, but its the same regardless of carbs/injection. I suspect the engine runs rich, particularly at motorway...

Will a re-map improve fuel economy?

As per title. I am fairly sure my 200Cup runs rich, and is therefore slightly thirstier than it might be otherwise. If I have the car re-mapped (rolling road, custom map), by somebody who knows that they are doing, can I expect to see an improvement in mpg? I used to work at a place...

    Track day tyre pressures

I run mine at 36 all round. I know this sounds high, but the side walls dont end up mullered and the handling seems fine, possibly a little loose at the back.

    Turbo Clio 200 prices

Dear Renault: Reference, New Clio 200 Turbo Dear Renault, I remember seeing the then brand new Clio 197 at the UK Autosport show (must have been 2006 maybe) and I immediately wanted one. I thought it looked fantastic, just right, purposeful, and it had dock-off Brembo brake calipers. SOLD...

    New 200 owner - a few Qs

oh, forgot to mention, I can rev-match quite happily but only if I'm wearing wide trainers (DC's etc). It does take a bit of a stab. I did a track day in racing boots and found it almost impossible to heel & toe as I normally just roll the throttle with the side of my foot when braking. I'm...

    New 200 owner - a few Qs

The engine is a bit flat at low revs but I just have to remember to drop a gear or two if I'm making progress on the road. On track the flat spot is never a problem. I'm not sure of the exact rpm but the flat spot seems to appear fairly low in the rev range. I run my tyres at 36psi all round...
