    Chaning my own Timing Belt

Thank you very much for that. I'll certainly be enjoying that video. Now, on to find myself a Timing Belt kit, and the genuine tools. Wish me luck.

    Chaning my own Timing Belt

Thanks for this. I have searched, and and found a few videos for the F4R, but for the 172/182 Clios. Nothing for the 197/200 specifically. If you know of any, I'd really appreciate if you could share the link. Now, regarding the engine not needing to be out...It doesn't look like there's a...

    Chaning my own Timing Belt

Hi all, Because I was quoted a ridiculous amount for a Timing Belt and Water Pump for my 197, I'm now looking at doing it myself. I can already predict that it would be frustrating at some stages, but I'd save a lot of money, and it would probably feel very rewarding, after it's done. It would...

    Few problems with my 197

The flexis had no visible defects. They were also still nice and silver, which could mean smoke wasn't coming out of them, otherwise they would have carbon buildup? Going to take a second look at the manifold, again. It could be worth replacing the clamp, anyway, as they aren't expensive.

    Few problems with my 197

I thought it could be, or from the flexis, but I physically can't see smoke. However, when sitting in the car, with the window open, revving it, it will sound like some exhaust comes from underneath. There's also an exhaust noise when when shifting gears, sometimes, which doesn't sound that...

    Few problems with my 197

Yes, you are correct about the drop links. As for the exhaust flexis, I do know what they look like, but it just didn't look like they were something you could detach, and reattach. I can already predict it would cost a fortune to weld that, over here, in Guernsey :unamused: I'll probably look...

    Few problems with my 197

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Today, I've reset the MPG, and drove it for a bit, responsibly, and managed to get 20MPG, at a push. Once I've put the car on ramps, and gave her a few good revs, it has decreased to 19MPG. I looked at the whole exhaust system, including the flexes, and couldn't see...

    Few problems with my 197

Hi all, As the title states, I have a few issues with my 197. Some of them might be related with other problems listed. I'm wondering if anyone could share some input on them: Low MPG My car has quite bad MPG. I understand these cars aren't a cheap runaround, and that I shouldn't expect...

Hazards flashing in pattern - alarm problems?

Cheers for that. I can see that BCM modules for Mk3 Clios aren’t very expensive on eBay. Do you think I could just buy a replacement one and it would work with the car, or do I need to get mine fixed? What I mean is, is the BCM somehow coded with the car?

Hazards flashing in pattern - alarm problems?

I’m not an expert by any means, but isn’t the ECU the unit that controls the Engine? Are you, by any chance talking about the BCM, which is behind the glovebox? I have come across posts that mention the BCM too. I haven’t looked on mine, yet.

Hazards flashing in pattern - alarm problems?

Hi all, I have an issue with my 197. I have the key-less entry system on this car, and when I stop the car, and then the engine, without locking the car via the keycard, the hazards will flash in a pattern. They will flash three times, stop, and repeat continuously. This is with the car...
