Unplugged each coil 1 at a time with the engine running. If the unplugged coil doesn't effect how the engine is running then it is likely to be faulty.

Just thought I would update this thread for anyone who has similar problems to me in the future. Turns out it was a faulty coil pack.

Looks like a 197, the information says it is a 2006 car

Thanks for all the responses guys. I started the car again this morning and it was still misfiring, running really rough and almost cutting out. Looks like I'm going to have to get the AA out tomorrow as it is just undrivable

How much was that to be repaired if you don't mind me asking?

Forgot to mention as well, as soon as I put the clutch down/put it in neutral the revs dip to around 500 as if it is about to stall. It keeps doing this and I have to use the accelerator to stop it from cutting out

So driving home from picking some food up, about 2 minutes down the road the car starts misfiring and I get a 'check esp, check ignition' warning on the dash. Engine management light is also flashing. Anyone have any ideas of what it could be? Had the spark plugs changed a couple of months back...

We are a tough lot up north. Its frowned upon to put the central heating on before December, and you very often see people out in just shorts and a shirt even at minus 5 degrees. You southern fairies need to be careful when you travel north, don't want to catch a cold :wink:

If you have an open cone filter then you tend to lose a few bhp as the engine will be sucking in hot air. With a closed filter (eg performance panel filter in the standard air box) you normally gain a few bhp as the performance filter is less restrictive so the engine can get more air...

I don't think it is just Tesco that are putting their prices up, everyone around my area seem to be doing it unfortunately

I have always used Vpower, but recently I have started to use Tesco Momentum. Haven't noticed any difference between the two, but Tesco is a fair bit cheaper. I always use a super unleaded though, I like to treat my car to the finer things in life ;)
