Locking wheel bolt dilemma sorted. Replaced with a set of black TPI standard bolts. Much prefer the look of these compared to the aged, rusty silver things!

    Wheel Nuts

I've just ordered some TPI ones from sixonetwo, with the discount code "forum612". I think these http://shop.sixonetwo.co.uk/standard-non-slip/set-of-10-14x150-28mm-tapered-17hex-tpi-black-round-wheel-bolts.html would be the correct ones, you'd need two sets of these. Would be good if someone...

Yep agreed I'd rather just pay the £20 and get them done... a little nervous just incase they struggle as I need them off by Monday for the timing belt.

No luck yet - local garage want a fiver per wheel so think I'll take that route tomorrow when the new TPI bolts arrive :-)

Minor setback - looks like myself nor the previous owner can find the locking wheel bolt key lol! Will need to get these removed prior to the timing belt change on Monday. On the bright side, I've bought a 20 TPI bolts to replace the aged ones. If anyone local to Colchester has a locking wheel...

Car is booked into Engine Dynamics for the belts, going to get the gearbox oil and plugs done next weekend I hope. In contact with the previous owner regarding the missing wheel bolt key (it's got the extended wheel bolts from KTEC). Hopefully I can purchase the key separately, the bolts are...

Got the oil and filter service done today. Wanted to get the plugs and gearbox oil done, but wasted a bit of time looking for the locking wheel bolt key, so just run out of time. Pleased the oil and filter is all done now, prior to the new belts and dephaser next week, car has now covered 69264...

Yep it's going to need a bit of money spent on it before Christmas, but I honestly don't mind given I bought it knowing it needed a little work. A nice delivery arrived this morning!

Yeah I used the free shipping coupon - always nice! I forgot to mention but if anyone has ANY idea about: http://www.clio197.net/threads/xenons-automatically-pointing-at-the-floor.54279/ or has a CLIP and lives near Colchester, Essex - it'd be really appreciated. It's driving me nuts already :(

Xenons automatically pointing at the floor.

Hey - cheers for mentioning this. Everything appears connected, and the arms are all attached (front and back), it appears most of the troubleshooting requires a CLIP, so I may have to bite the bullet and take it to a garage :(

Cheers for the support everyone. It appears that welshname looked after it, I got it for a steal (IMO) too. My order from Renault Parts Direct should arrive tomorrow, I'm really impressed with the pricing! I spent £87 for oil, filter, pollen filter, gearbox oil - which I thought was pretty fair...

Cheers Jimmy - for now most of my plans are getting it 100% mechanically (need to strip down and look at the brakes, change fluid etc). Just found an opportunity to go and put the plates on. Really pleased with the quality - £14.94 delivered from eBay (hardridden), includes all the required...

    tcw's Clio 197

Hey people. Picked up a black Clio 197 at the weekend, from @welshname (a really nice bloke). I've wanted to startup a thread, but wanted to take my own photos first, the weather isn't allowing it so I shall use the photos he sent me for now. My plans are as follows New Plates... I don't like...

Xenons automatically pointing at the floor.

I should mention - the car is lowered on H&R springs, and has been for quite some time (a good few years looking at the paperwork).

Xenons automatically pointing at the floor.

So I picked up a Clio yesterday, all was good on route home until it got dark. Everything was fine, however occasionally the lights would automatically adjust and start pointing directly at the floor, so visibility was poor. Since then it's pretty much stayed like that, except for a brief...

    197 Buying Advice

Hey all! I bought it, the owner was a pleasure to deal with, the car seemed straight, there are a few minor bits which need sorting but the price was good, or at least I thought so (would like to hear everyones opinions on this), it performed fine on the 300 mile drive home. Just going to...
