Hi, My car has developed a weird sound as if something is loose (Metallic tinkling noise). It does not happen all the time but I managed to capture it on the vid. Does anyone know what it may be? Thanks

I've been running a Madeno setup for about a year now. Really been happy with the kit. It's not too bad on the road, firm but not crashy. Great on track. My rates were chosen to be compliant on the Ring, which is quite bumpy so the setup translates well on the road.

Hi, When I switch off my engine I get a weird clunk or a deep clicking noise on the Campbelt side if the engine. Sometimes (maybe once a month) I get the noise on startup and it repeats like a knock. Any idea what it could be without having to make a video first?

Can anyone tell me the correct order to put this back together. I've forgotten which bits go where.

I often tend to miss 4th gear on track. To be honest though, I think its more user error than a mechanical problem.

I've had a problem with this site for a while, I used to click on the link but then be taken to some random garbage site. I had to back out then reload to get to the site. This morning I was also faced with the big scary looking red screen. John

Its quite an "Agricultural" engine. They do make some horrid noises. The valve-train likes to chatter.

As much as it's hard for people to comprehend.. I love thst gearbox. As said though, it was more a "what if". It's a lot of torque to gain with a reduction in weight. There's pros and cons.

Its lighter, and has a dual clutch MAT box. Lots of torque with a re-map. (plus ive found a crashed 200t :))

Remember Renault own's Nissan, think borrowed Nissan GTR tech. Using tech from other models throughout multiple model ranges reduces the R&D cost's.

I was speaking to some of the Renault Sport staff at Spa. They mentioned AWS, but there was no mention of AWD. They had a GT onsite available to test drive... but I was preoccupied with my 197 and tyre pressures.

I'm sorry, but bad guy incoming. Those that think the 5 GTT will be faster on track are... confused? There's 20 years of chassis dev and a lot more rubber. GTT is 140 BHP per ton, 197 is 150 BHP per ton. A fully stripped 197 with decent suspension/geometry and a good set of rubber will carry...

When you press the clutch pedal it forces the clutch to disengage the gearbox, this puts pressure on the release bearing and the load will squish it all together quieting the bearings. When its in its resting position the bearings can just rattle around in their casing... hence the noise.
