Can anyone confirm my workings to make sure my wheels aren’t about to fall off?! I’ve just installed a stud and nut kit on my 197 and from what I could find online the recommendation for torquing the stud is 15lb/ft, which I calculate as about 20nm...

My pleasure, any questions give me a shout. I’m hardly the most accomplished spanner turner, but I found it surprisingly ok. (Once I’d put the cage in the right way round!) I also had to remove some of the sealant stuff to get a flatter fit on some of the bottom leg (under that circled bolt)...

It’s a tight fit! I thought I’d leave the shipping foam in place until I got it in, to protect it and the car, but there’s just no room. Take it off before hand and get someone to help load it in. Front seats need to come out, don’t forget to disconnect the airbags before taking them out...

@RSRowe Any chance you have/could take a pic of where the rear plate bolts to the rear arches please? I’m pretty sure I’ve got it in the right place, but would be good to check before I start drilling holes in stuff.

No instructions though! They’re working on some video guides apparently but just snowed under at the moment. How hard can it be….. :-)

I had just got a response from Josh at JP Cages, so bonus points for actually responding, and doing so quickly! Track Dynamics are genuinely reselling his cages. He’s not offering any discounts/price match at the moment so recommends purchasing through them! Now, which colour to go with… :smile:

Hopefully he's not too busy to respond to the email I've sent him. So many places I contact with questions just ignore their emails/social media https://www.track-dynamics.co.uk/ seem to be offering his cages at a discount at the moment.

@adam thomas how did you find installation and did you do it yourself or is it a two man job? I’m ok with a set of spanner’s but certainly no mechanic and would be working on my driveway with a jack and some axel stands…

Intent is to have a pre fabricated half cage from JP Cages, SWMotorsport or someone similar. I thought all cages required spreader plates welding in but SW Motorsports claim their cage requires no welding at all? (Does anyone have any experience with this?) The car is already stripped and I’ll...
