Yep. 100%. As said though, just make sure the surface is totally clean though. C4 works by effectively coating the plastic in a hard hydrophobic shell, so it'll retain all lint and debris on application.

Just imagine the shortest, most mechanical feeling shift ever, but they're completely solid. Without using one, it's hard to describe them.

Re plastics, use GTechniq C4. It's a semi-permanent trim restorer and protector. Amazing stuff. Car looks great! Good news about the remap.

Nothing that's available off the shelf, unfortunately. The Megane has the benefit of the CAE fitting within the shroud, so the trim just covers the ugly plastic part and still leaves the mech on show. The Clio's trim is a lot lower so the whole mech and base is on show.

I've always wanted one since using a CAE on a 250 Megane. They're works of art. I've always ruled them out because of the need to bin all the trim. Now I know that you don't have to, it's game on!

All other mods are now on the back burner. I've found out that you can install a CAE shifter with only minor trimming to the plastics. Once the service is out of the way, this'll be the next purchase. I know they're expensive and I was always put off by the fact you had to bin all the trim, but...

Looking good. Be careful with that orange pad. They're designed for heavy cutting and as a result they can leave marring in the paint. You ideally need to correct with an orange pad if the paint's that bad, then refine with a lower-grade pad to remove the marks that harder pads leave.

It's on my list 100%, but I really want to keep it as factory looking as possible. There's no realy way of me mocking it up beforehand either. CAE's are a rare thing on Mk3 Clios.

CAE is porn. No other words for it. It's on my dream list of mods. Can you see any way of keeping the factory trim in place with the shifter installed?
