    Paintwork on Matt Door Trim

Just throwing in an idea - I have nothing to do since work dried up and being in lockdown so I decided to take my bullets, badges, door handles and rear diffuser off last week and spray them myself. I had a few cans of primer, gloss black and lacquer so worth a shot. They came out really well...

    Squeaking clutch

@turkie172 I used a different CSC bearing when I had mine done... I used this one as I read on a few different forums these can be better because they are made of metal (including the piping) which means they are a bit more durable and won't crack like the plastic ones. It's a TRW make with...

    Squeaking clutch

I'm 99% certain this is the CSC bearing. Time for a new clutch and CSC :)

    Acoustic valve

Perfect, thanks for that. I'm going to leave mine in place, but I'm sure your knowledge and photos will be of huge help to OP.

    Acoustic valve

Appreciate the photos and explanation, but my question is; does this do anything performance wise? Does it affect performance negatively or positively? Also, a few comments up I linked a blanking plug, what/why would that be a "thing" and are their any reasons why you'd want to blank that off...

    Acoustic valve

I saw this on ebay today (randomly, too!), would this be necessary?

    Acoustic valve

If that is the case, let me know your thoughts when you've removed and if it's positive, I'm in! If/when you do get around to removing, could you take a few photos etc? :)

    Acoustic valve

Out of curiosity, what's the pros/cons of removing this valve? (sorry to hijack, just interested)

I have this version, not sure if it will be the right version as it's for 2009 but worth a shot?: Clio III X85_NT8483_Visu v5.0_2009.05.18

    Pionner SPH-EVO62DAB - 82DAB

@DS197 Quite right. Was it you that did the mod for the android phone insert where the SatNav/clock screen was? IF not then my bad - but whoever did it, it looked brilliant. I have seen on youtube somewhere of a lad who did something similar but had it hooked up to a mic and a small controller...

I would advise paying for a membership - it's peanuts compared to the amount of use you'll get out of it. Also, I can't be certain but I think paid members have access to a full PDF of the Clio service manual - this includes a fair whack of detail, the PDF is around 100MB.

    Pionner SPH-EVO62DAB - 82DAB

@DS197 I think the unit he posted (The Pioneer H/U) is actually a single DINN that allows the screen to be mounted pretty much anywhere you want... The idea is great because this can utilize the single-din space in the centre but then hook up to the monitor/screen where the clock is placed. Of...

    Pionner SPH-EVO62DAB - 82DAB

Great idea but it's way to pricey for me... You'd be better off buying a Samsung tablet or something and hooking that up to a single-din head-unit. I have a Pioneer head-unit with DAB, BT, all the other trimmings etc and it was only £99. Essentially, I reckon I could get a shit tonne more...

    Ebay exhaust

Reviving an old thread - anybody have any trouble with the clamping/joining of the manifold to the mid section? I've probably tried around 5 different clamps (including original Renault clamp) and it still seems to have a blow coming from this section and it's driving me nuts. I've used...

List of faults on a forgotten about 197

If it hadn't been started for a few months>2 years then of course you'd expect a little smoke to come out. I'd assume the engine is fine, drop any oil that's already in there, get it a new oil filter and refil with fresh oil. Start her up and allow to warm up and see how things are from there...

    Diy steering wheel refurb

^ Same - I ended up cancelling mine as mine isn't bad at all and tbh I couldn't be arsed to wait, I saw this thread and wanted to do it at the time but then realised after the replies, the amount of time and effort required and scrapped it.

    Brake Fault warning on dash...

Overfilling may have caused it (I'm no expert!) and RE: The order of bleeding, I actually am not sure which nipple should be bled first but by logic, I'd say the inner nipple first and the outer after. Logically I imagine the inner nipple is the first exit from the brake line and the outer...
