    tcw's Clio 197

Right... after a drive out tonight I believe the lighting issue is fixed for now! Pretty pleased if that's the case, though only time will tell, I'll pick up a plug and re-plug it soon, providing the issue doesn't return. For those who are interested, I took the front bumper off and one of the...

    Clio 197 / 200 Phone holder.....

I bought one of these, iHome was the brand, was about £6.99 from TK Maxx - best phone holder I've ever had, the suction ones are rubbish! Note: Anker is also a pretty decent brand, available from Amazon for about £7.99.

Xenons automatically pointing at the floor.

Some developments on this issue... yesterday I went to see someone with a CLiP to see if we could see anything, it appears CLiP could not talk to the lighting module - this points to a bad connection or faulty computer. I took the bumper off at lunch time today and honestly the plugs were in...

    tcw's Clio 197

Managed to get a bit more done today, helped a friend change the brake pads on their Transit, a job well done. Then gave the Clio a good wash, and got the gearbox oil changed. Pleased now that's done, it does definitely feel smoother. Wasn't a difficult job, took around an hour I guess, taking...

Inner Tie Rods - aftermarket alternatives/where to buy?

Aside from Renault Parts Direct and the Renault genuine part... has anyone tried any of the aftermarket alternatives for inner tie rods? I need to replace one of mine in the not too distant future and ideally would like to buy a pair. I am happy to replace them with genuine parts, however...

Ouch, I changed a timing belt on a Subaru that was at least 7+ years old and it looked brand new in comparison. EDIT: I got my timing belt changed at Engine Dynamics today, which was 5+ years old (it was overdue). I should've really asked them to keep hold of the old belt to compare against...

    tcw's Clio 197

Timing belt, aux belt, water pump and dephaser changed at Engine Dynamics today. Great service, dropped it off early this morning and picked it up just after lunch.

Some more progress today, got the spark plugs all sorted, also changed the rear high level brake light bulb, it's W16W for reference. Old plugs looked OK, but good to have changed them for piece of mind. Timing belt tomorrow. Will need to get around to gearbox oil replacement, brake fluid...

RSTuner vs CAN Clip for general problem diagnosis

Hey everyone, Not sure if this appropriate but I'm going to ask anyway. I've got a problem with the lights, which I am pretty sure it's the sensor. Now the most 'for sure' way to diagnose this, I am told is via the CLIP. I don't own a CLIP. Now I've got two options: * Take it to the garage...

    Gearbox oil change

I think the filler plug is plastic, shouldn't be a need to replace it, just important to check you can get it out before you drain the oil! You get the drain plug washer with the 2 litres of oil I linked to, and it's just an 8mm bit (same as the engine sump plug) to undo it.

Ouch, that sucks. Hopefully some better (more detailed) news tomorrow, before the weekend. Best of luck, Tobie.

    Gearbox oil change

Isn't this the oil EuroCarParts sell? Not sure on the specs of that specific oil, but the official one is cheap enough to avoid me looking elsewhere for now (and it comes with the washer). http://www.renaultpartsdirect.co.uk/product/renault-gearbox-oil-nfj-75w80-2ltr-gearbox-sump-plug-washer/...
