Can anyone recommend some light semi-slick ?

I have 9 R888R's sat in the garage that I would weigh, trouble is they are all half worn so would weigh less :tonguewink:

    Anti rotation links

Been using them for a few years now on my track car and they are still going strong. They take all kinds of abuse on track!!

    Silverstone Edition 200 - AST 5100

I'll stick with my ZPO then. It comes alive on track and makes shifting a pleasure rather than guess work

    Silverstone Edition 200 - AST 5100

I wonder if anyone has done a back-to-back comparison of one of these and a CAE/ZPO?

R27 track car build- engine refresh time.

Did this build progress? Particularly interested in the ITB's and side exit exhaust

    The Clio of Epic Sluggishness.

Interesting that the stock intake was restricting as much as 11bhp. Normally a stock intake with a performance panel filter gives much better results than an induction cone, especially a cone without any heat shielding (I seem to remember the KTEC one has shielding though). I have the R3 intake...

Track Day Scrutineering Yes / No.....

Yes, it really would. If a quick visual (assuming you're going to want other things checking as well) might only take 3 minutes (line up, get out of car, pop bonnet or aero catches, look round engine bay, close bonnet, get back in car, move off - that's probably more than 3 minutes actually)...

Track Day Scrutineering Yes / No.....

Depends if you want less time on track and higher trackday prices. Ultimately TDO is there to make money, so you start including scrutineering then that takes time and more importantly money. I've done countless trackdays (probably well in excess of 40), and I've only ever seen 3 major oil...

    Track car on a budget!

This is my philosophy, and as such have resisted the FI route so far. I have KW v2's and Powerflex Black just about everywhere, and currently looking at solid bushes and seriously considering a Madeno Bilstein setup in the near future. I can pretty much keep up with 99% of cars on smaller...

    Track car on a budget!

I have a friend/fabricator who's currently looking at making a clio mk3 turbo manifold, so could put you guys in touch. Alternatively you could go down the Supercharged route??

    Solid Bushes & Subframe Bushes

First disclaimer - Pure track car Where-ever possible my car has Powerflex Black Series bushes, but to sharpen the handling even more I'm thinking of going to solid bushes and solid subframe bushes. Has anyone got experience of these, either going from standard to solid or the power flex bushes...

Clio 3 RS F1 Team R27 Meglio - it will be a trackcar

Where did you get the poly windows from? What stops rain getting in the rear window breather holes?

    Carbon air box eBay

Have the fibreglass one on my track car. Battery and coolant expansion tank relocation. Sounds epic though. See youtube clip below for an example (standard engine).

What was the price if you don't mind me asking?

    Renaultsport R27 0465

Hi John - interesting read. I've had my pure track-only clio for 4 or 5 years now, and it never ceases to amaze me on track. Having not spent any money on it for a year or 2 due to Covid, I'm considering a few changes, namely the Madeno setup, which lead me to your post. I too have often...

    r888r pressures

Also ran mine at 28psi cold last month at Cadwell - stripped out track only car. Unfortunately didn't get chance to measure pressures hot (having too much fun). All I can say is that they performed faultlessly (would say slightly better than my AR1's, definitely better than AD048 & RSR's I've...

    The crunchy 197

How many laps do you tend to do on each session? Perhaps you're cooking the tyres - too many flat out laps?? I tend to do a few warm up laps, about 7 or 8 hard laps, then at least 1 cool down lap, mainly to let the brakes cool before coming in. How did the AR1's hold up?

    The crunchy 197

No, left it in the original position in the inlet manifold. 2 reasons - 1, I remove the airbox far more than I remove the inlet manifold, so would be something extra to piss around with (and the fibreglass/carbon fibre is fragile), and 2, I'd rather measure the air inlet temp at the point it's...

    The crunchy 197

I had to cut my inner track rods as well when I adjusted the tracking. I'm running KW coilovers. The R3 is immense. The induction sound alone makes it worth the money.
