    Rear end wobble

Fairly easy bud, rears are quite simple. Do you have a basic socket set, WD40 and jack/axle stands? If so, jack the car up and put onto axle stands, take both wheels off, pop the boot, pull back the carpet both sides in the boot, there will be 3 nuts for the shock absorber. The two outer ones...

    Rear end wobble

Maybe, but that would show up on an alignment, both camber and toe. As above, difficult to suggest or diagnose without checking.

    Stop Start Button

A chap called Ryan Kilner on one of the Facebook groups was looking at alternative colours and designs, though I dont think hes produced them yet. He does the keycard stickers.

    Rear end wobble

Not mine, and I have lowering springs. Tried moving wheels from front to back to see if the wobble moves?

    Windscreen washer jets

If they are projectors theres no requirement to have headlight washers, if they are xenons there is but most MOT places dont care from my experience (my last 3 cars have had washers Ive blanked and all passed in 4 garages) The windscreen washers have a non return valve already but its common...

    Clio 197????

I bought a 109k Clio 197 'full fat' from a chap about 18 months ago. I paid £3k, had a fairly comprehensive history with it. I wanted toys (Came from a fully loaded M sport e46 3 series) so I wanted one with Recaros, Xenons, Climate control, cruise control, etc. In my ownership I have had to...

I think my rear breaks are sticking

Those springs really help, they wont make it amazing but it certainly aids it. I have started leaving my car just in gear when on the drive to avoid the handbrake sticking on.

Best thing to do with standard non cup suspension

Cup shocks and some Eibach or H&R springs are generally recognised as being a good standard with Bilstein B14 coilies being the next good standard. Early 200 Cup shocks are harder than 197 Cup shocks and use the same topmounts.

    Budget mods you’ve done...

-Rear wiper delete -Rear caliper springs -LED numberplate lights -Powerflex torque mount -Stubby aerial I have found an interior LED kit for the speedo, 18 Euros so that will be another cheap mod.

Middle section delete - is it worth it?

From what I understand its frowned upon. Very loud but sounds good at full chat. However, will be drony and noisy. Have a look at them on Youtube, quite a lot of videos of centre resonator deletes.

    Bent rear axle?

In which case shims wont work but it is worth checking both stub axles as a just in case. If one is good some compare like with like, if its that pronounced on the car it will be obvious.

    Bent rear axle?

What I mean is start small and work up. Why replace a rear beam if a stub axle is bent? Also, if its a few degrees out a camber shim would work, although not ideal. More than that, I would investigate further. No-one produces the stub axles from memory except Renault. They are over £200 a...

New dampers for Clio 197 not chassis cup

Thats no different to putting aftermarket springs on that are not necessarily tuned to the dampers. In reality theres not a massive difference between 197 regular dampers and 197 Cup dampers (7% stiffer?)

New dampers for Clio 197 not chassis cup

That would work fine, 197 Cup dampers are slightly stiffer than regular dampers. Renault Parts Direct are always a good place to look.

    Bent rear axle?

Im no mechanic but id estimate the stub axles would bend before the axle. Worth getting the car on for basic 4 wheel tracking, it should show it being out. If its a few degrees you can get camber and toe shims from Pure Motorsport.

    Lowering Springs H&R

I prefer Eibach springs and I have had both Eibach and H&R on my 197. I had H&R fitted to admittedly very tired full fat shocks and bought a set of 200 Cup shocks (stiffest you can get from memory) and Eibach springs. The whole setup feels stiffer, id estimate although the Eibachs are slightly...
