It was along those lines, but it was long and thin (giggidy!)

    Boot tidy/bag

I found a topic a few weeks back and someone had a bag/tidy thing in their boot which sat along the drivers side of the boot, they also put a link to the site they bought it from, I seem to remember it was a mod/admin/trader who had posted about it. I have tried finding the topic again but have...

    Powerflex bushes & engine mounts

+1. I find you only really get vibration when you put the engine under load at really low revs, like when you coast to a junction in 2nd gear then pull off without changing down to 1st

    What's my 197 worth?

Instead of people guessing, it would be best if he picks up the phone to RS Tuning and ask their advice about the remap and removing the exhaust.

    What's my 197 worth?

I would say 4.5-5k private. I think the mileage will be a killer for most although the leather could be a bonus. If I were you, I would take off the wheels, exhaust and induction kit, sell those bits on and also see if someone would buy your seats on an exchange basis. That should raise around...

    Most popular hatches

Following on from the 200T Trophy topic which drifted onto number sold, I decided to have a look at which hot hatches were most popular. If you think you see a lot of Fiesta ST's about then you are right Certainly looks like Renault have lost the market with the 200T

Autocar now has a review up of the new Clio Trophy

Don't forget, the Polo GTi/Ibiza Cupra (and Bocenegra)/Fabia VRS have all had a DSG gearbox since 2009. A quick check shows around 5000 vehicles sold between them and that is with a very well regarded DSG gearbox but engines with some major reliability issues. They are now dropping DSG only for...

Strut braces. Are they worth it?

ARBs definitely make a difference, I don't think anyone would argue that one. They are a big win on a road car too, as they make it handle better with no detriment to vehicle ride characteristics

    Problems with Dealer

I disagree Litchy, sponsoring a forum/club is a 2 way thing. It should be a trustworthy company that the members can rely on, so if there are big issues (such as this one, not my parcel took an extra day for delivery) then it is right that the club members (and Admin) should know. Obviously SC...

    Engine misfire

As I said, get the upper and lower torque mount bush inserts from Powerflex (about £50 for the 2) and the Toyosport is fine. It doesn't require any mapping. If you find a garage with a cheap enough labour rate, you could buy the Toyo, have it fitted along with the Powerflex bushes for the same...

    Engine misfire

Go for the Toyosport, you will need the Powerflex upper and lower torque mount bushes though to make sure it doesn't knock

    Air intake

I am not on about the filter itself, I am interested in the 'inlet' to the air intake which sits in the upper grill on the 197, which then feeds the pipe which crosses the front of the engine, snakes through the bay and into the airbox.

    Air intake

I had the upper grills off at the weekend and noticed the entry to the air intake looks to be quite restricted. There is a large flap to the upper section of the grill. Has anyone removed this flap? On one of my old cars, there was a similar restriction on the intake and it was common for...

    R27 #239 front end refresh

Looks like the car has had similar issues to mine. My manifold blew, so I replaced it with a Toyosport and noticed the state of the lower dog bone mount. I picked one up a little cheaper than that off eBay though.

I think it has gone on strike! Help required

Need some help. I was just out driving, cruising in 5th at about 50mph, go to accelerate a little and it splutters a little (a bit like the kangerooing they do) dropped it down a gear or 2 and it was the same. It seems OK when cruising at a constant speed, however when trying to accelerate it...

Road car differences to the race/rally cars

I'm sure I have seen a post or document which showed the differences between the 197/200 road cars and the race/rally cars. Does anyone have a link to this?
