I recently bought an r26 as a donor. 79k, was prime for it's second belt. Just done the belt so there's no issue. I would have no problem buying a car in need of a belt, just factor the cost in. If it's 10 years old and never had it done I'd be questioning the service history of the whole car...

I wouldn't want to pay much more than 3k for a megane donor! About 1500-2k in parts, half of it sells quickly, half will be a week or 2. I sold off the Clio bits for about £3k and bought the donor for £3250 so can't complain Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Make sure subframe is just tightened straight, if it's ever been off it might not be. Having said that, even with extreme geo on race car and a standard road car with kws, neither have ever had a problem, race cars been apart so many times, only recently I made sure it was tightened straight...
