Grinding/moaning noise when approaching right lock

Ah, the joints on the hub. Thing is, I've replaced these 2 ball joints about a year ago, during a major service.. I find it hard to believe they'd last less than 8000 km. Either way, I'm away from home right now on a trip and I'll be able to have the car lifted and examined when I get back...

Grinding/moaning noise when approaching right lock

Thanks for the replies guys. Are you referring to these joints? I would think that the noise is caused by something rotating left/right when the steering wheel is turned... which on RS cars is the carrier hub, the rest of the suspension remains pretty much stationary when turning the wheel...

Grinding/moaning noise when approaching right lock

This sounds exactly like the sound tyres make on a multi-story car park when you're maneuvering around... but on my 200, sadly, its not the tyre thats making the noise. When doing parking maneuvers and approaching full lock towards the right, I get this grinding/moaning noise from the front...

Weird cruise control issue with steering wheel buttons

That IS interesting. So with the problematic brake pedal switch, your cruise control behaved like I described? With the + speed button not doing anything, and the - button increasing instead of decreasing speed?

Weird cruise control issue with steering wheel buttons

Ah. The old clockspring switch.. I had replaced it at least twice on my older Megane under warranty, due to it making a horrible racket when turning the wheel. The strange thing is, the horn works fine, and there's no airbag light, so these two cables apparently work still. But now that I think...

Weird cruise control issue with steering wheel buttons

I've used cruise control about 5 or 6 times in the last 10 years that I've owned my MK3 200, and during a recent trip I realized that there's something wrong with the steering wheel switches that set cruise control speeds. Cruise control turns on normally via the switch next to the parking...

    Weird overheating issue

To be honest there have been a few instances during the past couple of years where the engine seemed to run too cool (i.e. temperature gauge not in its 'regular' middle position, but lower). But in those cases had I chalked it up to low outside temperature and highway driving. Perhaps the stat...

    Weird overheating issue

Apparently my brain has turned to mush after a full day's work.. indeed the thermostat seems to be the most likely culprit. For some reason, I thought that since the cabin heater works, the thermostat must be working, i.e. allowing coolant to circulate... but then I remembered that the...

    Weird overheating issue

Hello all, it's been a while since I've posted here, alas I'm back with a problem with my trusty '09 200. Today as I was returning home after work, I got the dreaded 'engine overheating' notification on the dash, and indeed, engine coolant temp was approaching dangerously the upper end of the...

    Oil engine *Poll

I've always used Elf oil for my Renaults. I had my 200 serviced a few days ago and I used the latest Elf Evolution SXR900 5w-40. It's amazing how much of a difference an oil change can do for this car (as well as general servicing). The engine seems a lot more responsive and the typical stutter...

Where to get OEM relays? (03525 50A)

To save anyone else the trouble, the relay in question is part number 7700810396 and can be found on the fusebox to the left of the battery (look for the purple box looking relay inside, it has four prongs). It controls the cooling fan at the front, and in my case, the faulty relay made the fan...

Where to get OEM relays? (03525 50A)

So the problem with my 200's A/C acting wonky was a faulty relay in the engine bay. The offending part is a 12V-50A relay (03525) by Cartier. While I can find hundreds of these online used, I can't seem to be able to find the part new somewhere. Anyone know where I can get one?

Noise that goes when clutch is pressed.

Indeed the sound you describe is 99% the thrust release bearing. A minor noise is pretty much normal. On my last car I pressured the dealer to replace the noisy part (since new) under warranty and the new part made the exact same noise. For some reason, the Clio's thrust bearing is pretty...

Gearbox dogbone mount - has the part changed?

Thanks for the clarification. Yeah by lower gearbox mount I meant the dogbone.

Gearbox dogbone mount - has the part changed?

Do you have the part numbers for the top and lower engine mount? (left by the belt area and the one under the battery)

Gearbox dogbone mount - has the part changed?

I have, but I'd like to replace the mount first, also, how are the vibrations with the inserts? Furthermore, is the all aluminum part the correct one for the 200?

Gearbox dogbone mount - has the part changed?

My 200's dogbone mount is on its way out and I can feel it while driving. I'm going to replace it on the next service. I've found three part numbers: 8200777542, 8200042454, 8200509784. Apparently, these all fit the 197/200. However, the design seems to have changed; the OEM mount is covered...

    Alternator Part Number - 2010 Clio 200 (CR0N)

If it's not a problem, do you also have the part number for the A/C compressor? I believe there was a change from '06 to '09 in the Delphi part used and I can't figure out the correct part number...
