For the 200 the procedure is attached "clip the door mirror glass in position" helpful eh! Took the Renault guy about 2 minutes to replace the one on mine (under warranty for rust lol). Assuming its the same procedure for the 197. Have seen the glass on ebay for about £14 in the past.

In my experience you have to chase Renault remorselessly. Totally useless and can only imagine they pay peanuts. I've not had many different brands of car but of the ones I have, Renault customer service is by far the worst.

I've seen a similar problem on a different part of the shell. Renault were unable to fix it after three attempts. There is underlying movement in the panel that is too great for the flexible sealer. Definitely take it to Renault for investigation, please let us know how you get on.
