I found the Eibachs a little more bouncy than standard paired with my 75,000 mile cup shocks - but liked the ride height, and found them really good for more focused driving and on track.
I went for Gaz Golds as wanted the adjustable top mounts - they’ve totally changed the car. Kept it a...
I’ve got a set of Eibach springs from my 2012 200 in Essex if you’re interested in buying. Installed new in July 2019, and done around 6000 miles. Replaced them last month with some track focused coil overs.
So I picked up a ktec stage 2 turbo on eBay that’ll be plumbed into the forged Meg engine, and I’ve specced a better intercooler.
It’ll get the 630cc injectors when it’s dyno tuned, and just wondering what sort of power I should expect to get out of it?
I’m guessing the fuel pump and exhaust...
Had Gaz Golds fitted this morning. What a difference to the Eibach springs and cup shocks - on the middle setting and ride’s much firmer with less bounce!
My box of Clio bits is getting bigger - might need to start selling stuff soon!
She’s off to BeanieSport for the Meg conversion on Saturday!!!
You’ve basically just summed up all of the arguments that are going round in my head!!!
This car was never about comfort - it’s about a fun build, and I think the right thing to for the car is to remove the aircon.
I’m 100% sure I’ll miss it on hot days… but I’m old enough to remember when...
Only decision I’ve got left to make about the conversion is whether or not to retain the AC.
In terms of comfort I think I’ll miss it - but removing it leaves more space in engine bay for header tank and induction.
Looking for any Meglio owners who can share their experience - did you...
Could have gone either way… but after a couple of track days I’m hooked and happy to spend a bit more cash on it!
Going to BeanieSport for the conversion, I think they’ll do a proper job, and can hopefully get it done by mid November. Then back to Engine Dynamics for a map!
Well… this has escalated fairly quickly!
Donington was only my 2nd track day, but I soon got fed up of the lack of power on the straights, and running out of rpm approaching a corner.
Car sounds awesome and feels amazing in the corners, but I’m flat out almost 100% of the time and need a bit...
Donington Park evening session yesterday - beautiful day, awesome circuit, and a huge variety of cars and drivers!
So glad I took my wheels - perfect conditions and made a massive difference to the grip (and my confidence!) going round corners.
Thanks chaps - if I take the wheels it’ll rain, if I don’t it’ll be dry! I’ll only regret it if I don’t take them, and they do fit nicely in the boot so decision made!
What do you guys do with spare wheels and all your gear when you’re out on track? Assuming I probably won’t have a garage.
I take your point about skimping on tyres - if there was an award for the most money spent with the least amount of benefit I’m pretty sure I’d win it… another £200 is a drop in the ocean!
Picked up a nice set of speedlines from Joe Hodges this morning and have ordered some MRF ZTR’s using the...
Thanks for the comments - I think I’ll go with the PS4’s for wet/damp as not too expensive.
That just leaves the dry tyres - at the back of my mind I’m thinking cheaper might be a false economy because they’ll wear out quicker? Guess I’ll just take a punt on something - it’s not like I’ll be...
