Next year this series is expected to grow massively!
They are looking at around 24 'race' cars, as many will drop from the UK Clio Cup as the new cars are a bit of a handful. (Gearbox has to come out after every race along with rolling starts now taking place in Europe because of problems with...
We have a 20 min qualifying session on the Saturday followed by a 20 minute race, then the same on the Sunday.
Croft is this weekend, with Rockingham on 10th/11th August, but can't remember when Brands is without looking!
Thanks mate :)
Unfortunately we don't come to Oulton.
We have done Snetterton and Croft is this weekend.
Then Rockingham in August and Brands in September.
Come along mate! Could do with a drinks maker! Ha
Glad to see this thread has started up again!
To give an idea of costs;
To run a race car with Scuderia Vittoria you are looking at around £25k for the season.
A road car with a team (like SWB Motorsport) for example, I'd estimate around £17 - £20k
As a privateer, like...
Hopefully I have got this in the right section!
Where do people normally stay if they are at Croft Circuit?
I will be there this weekend, but trying to find a local hotel with plenty of room for a van with a Clio on a trailer!
Any recommendations? :)
The only reason it isn't road legal is due to having no tax or MOT. But I'm sure if I were to tax and MOT it, then it could go back on the road, along with the correct insurance company of course!
I have definitely considered entering 'How Fast.' When is the next one?
That'll be me :)
Absolutely loved the first weekend of it! Cannot wait to get back out in the car for some testing before Croft in July.
If anyone really is interested in getting involved in the series, they are more than welcome to come and...
Haven't updated this for a while now guys, but to cut a long story short, I am aiming to be competing in the new entry level Clio Cup Series this year.
The car will be coming off the road on the 28th Feb, to undergo the work necessary to allow me to compete.
Some of you may think it's a...
Fitted my Sabelt steering wheel to the 197 today, using a boss from K-Tec.
But, the auto indicator cancellor keeps on clicking, when it's not meant to.(With the steering pointing forward, you only have to turn the wheel to the left or right slightly & it clicks) I thought I maybe had it in...
I will also need to get my 'trailer license.'
A Golf, like I mentioned will tow 1400kg according to the technical spec, so with a Clio and car trailer, it'll be roughly 200kg overweight.
Think an estate is the only option for me really.
Hope I have got this in the right section!
I'm sure that some of you on here have towed your Clio's on a trailer before.
If so, what towing vehicle did you use?
The only reason I ask, is for future planning as I want to get a new car this year, and keep the Clio too. But the new car must...
That reminds me, I also bought new Renault OEM top mounts for the coilover struts. Not too cheap at just under £100 each, but saved me some hassle with removing the old ones etc. Will make life easier if I ever need to re-fit the standard suspension too.
