This must be it as it’s right in the area you’re referring to. Just below the manifold. It was loose so I removed it but for the life of me I can’t remember where it was placed exactly.
Hey guys, an update on this as well. Thanks everyone for pitching in as it seemed as if I did simply overfill it. Although, I double checked it last night and there has been more leaking 500-600 kms after the oil change…
Evidence of new oil residue on the splash panel:
Leak is worse than the...
I can’t fully answer your question although those cats get pretty damn hot. I don’t think it’d melt the underbody instantaneously but I wouldn’t want to find out after hard track days.
I did remove this (I believe off my power steering rack) and I’ve had no adverse effects or melting metal. If...
For kicks and curiosity, I got the lighting as best I could and tried to fit my phone in (it’s an IPhone 12 mini haha) to see what I could not otherwise… lo’ and behold…
Is that our cracked bracket? I envisioned it differently but that must be it…
So a small update here…
The bracket for that subframe is on its way so I got under the car last night and snapped some photos so I have a clear head on how to remove the wishbone/control arm. I want to be as least invasive as possible but from what I think by looking, I should remove the...
RSRowe mentioned that he did that and still couldn't get to the brackets. I’m gonna have to get to it sooner or later so as soon as this bracket in I’m going to go to work.
I haven’t had the time to get back under the car but I cannot think of another way to get those inserts in other than just taking the whole subframe out.
Taking the subframe out looks involved. I can do it but with the snails rate at which I go about working on my car, it’ll take months lol
Hi everyone,
I’m wanting to sign up for a paid subscription so I can view some of the “How to” threads. I went to the sticky to find out how to become a paid member but I don’t see where it described to click in order to do so? It said click on “user cp” in the menu but not seeing it…
Thanks...
Oh yeah? I just checked them out (Rivnuts)- I wouldn’t even know what type to use, size and all of that.
You did the exact same ones for yours? What type did you use?
I haven’t tried tapping it out- what do you mean by this exactly? If what you’re referring to is removing the brackets, I haven’t the slightest idea how to get it out as it’s inside the subframe from what I understand. What’s the best way to access it? Do I remove the entire subframe?
Good to...
funMACHINE- You’re a lifesaver man, thanks. I didn’t think to think that this was a separate bracket and that it wasn’t fixed into the subframe. I did some pretty deep searching and I finally I came across this genuine Renault parts website and a match came up. Does this look like this is it...
Looks like I found it, the front subframe crossmember:
https://eurosubframes.com/products/new-nissan-micra-renault-clio-mk3-modus-front-subframe-crossmember-8200766078?variant=44316132901096
Any aftermarket stuff out there for this or something more durable? An reputable vendors?
Hi all,
I was trying to put my subframe bracket (this thing below) but it seems that one of the threads in the subframe is shot. What part do I need to replace for this? How bad is it to drive with this and the subframe brace/bracket screwed in at only 3 points?
Also, my lower engine...
More noise when accelerating in first or second gear. I’ve gotten used to it now but the first couple of dozen times it just sounds louder from any lightish-moderate acceleration in low RPMs. You don’t have to wait until 3500 or so for that rush of engine noise to hit you.
It’s noticeable and...
True. Rowe, I had a glimmer of hope after the first few short drives I took as it didn’t throw any faults but it finally did the other day.
Ethan, you beat me to it. I was going to post some pictures on here to show what to connect if you don’t want any faults or dashboard lights and what the...
OoOoOh- man, I was thinking it was an alternator all these years (I won’t live this down). If it was, then the battery light would illuminate then, I suppose.
This very well may have to do with the acoustic valve removal.
Thanks again, Rowe.
