The engines been dropped off with my engine builder / and luckily friend of mine to strip down while we're waiting for the parts to land. Ended up deciding on a 10.6 CR which will hopefully see the 350 hp mark!
Few other bits bought, SPA dual oil temp gauge for engine and supercharger oil...
I think you hit the nail on the head there with the foam filter so swapped it for a K&N. Any swarf would of been at the opposite end crushed in my valve seats I'm sure!
I did think that about the foam yes, Im going to run a fan on the front of the rad as the old ones knackered anyway and relocate the filter higher up. How would weld splatter make its way back through the charger?
So after the latest lockdown announcement and the booked trackdays being cancelled I've decided just to do the engine build properly, now there's no rush. Rather than rebuild my engine and having bits everywhere I've managed to find a cheap used engine then just swap and sell mine.

Fully agree to all of the above, was going to whip the head/sump/big end and main caps off and have a measure up and if it was all in good shape. If good just fit some pistons/rods with new shells so the car wasn't either stranded on a ramp for a week or having to get it rolling again to move it.
I've already got a 105mm pulley yes but unsure wether to use it yet or swap the size of the crank pulley I need to speak to a few people before a spec is decided
I've been running the supercharger for a while now I bought it off a guy from facebook. and yes the rods are all the same. Funnily enough Ive just had to send the charger off for repair due to a noise on start up. Found damage on the impeller but have no idea of the cause yet . . .
I swore when I was happy with the cars handling and performance it would just get used until it breaks! BUT after Oulton in the wet it has so much more to give and I figure if the engines going to come apart it may as well be before summer! Were booked on at Oulton on the 19th Jan then that's it...
