That's the same now though. Infact its easier to police because the winning tune would be distributed via a storefront meaning its locked so it can't be changed. All you have to do if you suspect a tune anyway is check the telemetry and look for things like power, torque, camber and what revs...

Who's to say we can't all use the same tune though? We could have a 'tune off' and vote to see which car to go with. That would mean we're still using modded cars, cutting out the tuning time and also makes competition closer and more fun.

Its not the lack of skill that's the problem, I don't have spare time for tuning.

As good as this is, its fast becoming a tuning competition rather than a driving one. I can see the need for being able to tune your car to how you like it but IMO its taking a little bit away from the whole driving thing. 3M Citrus Cleaner Adhesive Remover is awesome at removing glue from anything. Pricey but its really good at getting even the thickest glue off of car windows etc after removing dealer stickers and the like.

I got a 9:01.876, pretty sure i can break into 8:00.0 but i don't think i'll be getting near Roger's time. This track is far too time consuming to test, tune, test, tune, 'in lap', flying lap, mistake, flying lap' etc etc etc I just don't have the time resources to get that done.

My local specialist wants to charge main dealer prices, which i cant do atm as my bike engine rebuild is taking up all my spare cash.

Any idea where i can get one if he hasn't got one? Are we saying that ONLY the Renault kit will lock the cams precisely and that a generic kit will not?

TBH i'm not sure, it was a Renault Specialist who scanned the codes and told me the codes logged were dephaser related??

Nothing apart from a nicer induction note. Always run super of some kind. Had the car clip tested and it showed 3 instances of a dephaser pulley fault, which as far as i know controls the VVT. So a fault with that may well be holding the timing back, which would add up to how my car felt...
