Request: colour match for matt silver handles (standard)

I would also like to know, and yes the paint is damn thin. Never had a problem before when washing my car but the other day the pressure washer removed some of the paint from mine.

Has your gearbox been replaced? Yes or no?

Just thought I would give an update, I now have the reverse. I have been experiencing a crunch into 3rd only when the car is cold this time, but in my mind it should not be crunching at all anyway! Only done 17,500 miles so only 1,700 miles since it was replaced :chair: Now doing around 600...

Wow, that's a lot of spam

When I ran my own gaming forum I had a **** load of them keep registering, everything I tried worked for a few weeks then they would be back. I then found a large database of known spammers that is updated on-the-fly and ran a plugin that used the database and that solved the problem, no idea...

    No rear speakers????

Same as Luke, I think it was the early 197's and cups that did not have rear speakers but I could be wrong. EDIT: Just checked and foxspeed is correct, "4X15W Radio CD with Fingertip Controls and 2 tweeters and 4 speakers" was a £100 extra.

    Heater Fan Noise

I think mine was caused by the aircon running out of gas because in mid July the aircon stopped working, when I had the car serviced I had the aircon re-gassed and I cant say I have noticed the sound since.

    Speeding - drat

If you have been offered the the speed awareness course then don't query it just do it and go along with it, that's what I would do anyway.

Renault defends the paddles on the 200T

In the 7 odd years I have been driving I have never once driven an auto, so if I ever test drive the 200t or any auto for that matter it might be one of them moments where you go "why the hell have I been driving a manual all these years" or I might not like it, in which case only making an auto...

    Rust? Should I be worried

Yeah as above, mine is blue and is like a rubbery protective covering.

    Pot holes!!!

That sucks, must have been some knock to trigger the fuel safety switch. Down this way it’s not too bad, most the main road are pot free with the odd 1 or 2 it's just when you turn off onto side roads you got to watch out. When you turn into the road where I live it’s like the surface of the...

    Help! Paint/Laquer Peeling?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I am sure the 12 year anti corrosion warranty only covers you for, well corrosion ie rust. And the paintwork warranty on car is only 3 years. Source: http://www.renault.co.uk/Resources/PDF/Warranty_Terms_Cond_All_Models_UK_Vehicles_PRIOR_to_010911FINAL.pdf...

    Help! Paint/Laquer Peeling?

Yes that's the lacquer peeling. Looks like its been damaged by bird poo and water has got under the lacquer and started to lift it, blasting it with the pressure washer has then removed the lacquer that's already loose. Not sure if you would be able to sand the edges and do a localised repair...

    Buttons have gone stiff

    Buttons have gone stiff

Has your car been left without being driven for a few weeks? Mine has gone the same after having the car off the road for a few months, the radio controls freed them self but the trip computer controls are very stiff. I would not spray WD40 on to electrical components :omg:, you could try...

Are there any 'good' 197's for sale?

Just lol at the above. No wonder you are having problems if you are only looking at dealers, most but not all cars they sell are abused that's not to say private sellers will be any better. I gave up trying to sell mine, people are brain washed into only buying a car with recaros and cup...

    Am I being incredibly special...

Nop, mine remembers the position fine on both seats. I pull the handle, slide the seat as far forward as it will go then back and its back in the position where it was before. Oh and you have not said what seats you have, this is on the standard seats and not the Recaros.

    Colour confusion - Albi Blue

I would say that sounds correct, I know racing blue comes up as Bleu Dynamo.

    197 insurance

Don't meant to gloat but ever since I got my 197 when I was 21 mine has dropped every year, last year I paid £340 with cashback this year it looks like its going to be around the £250 mark. Getting older does have its benefits.
