    197 head and throttle bodies

I would love to see a K20 powered Clio! I had an EP3 Type R a few years ago and with bolt on breathing mods and a KPRO ECU and it wasn't far off 250bhp. You can get ~280-300bhp N/A with some wild cams and a few other bits which is mad when you think about it. That engine, tuned, in a Clio...

    Clio- door-help-locksmith?

I'd still go back to the dealership and kick up a fuss! Say you needed it fixing there and then, hence you had to call a locksmith. Say you're not happy, it shouldn't be something that's failed so quickly! - You 'might' get some money back or a free service or something lol. Worth a try!

Any suggestions on this engine sound?!?

I've got the resonated one, I remember seeing a central silencer while it was up on the ramp. It's spot on to be fair, it's not too loud when pottering about but gives off a few cheeky pops and burbles on the gear changes, once you start to give it some it becomes a bit more vocal. Don't think...

Any suggestions on this engine sound?!?

Sounds good, I've got a Milltek on mine it's a nice bit of kit. A remap is on the to do list for me but I've only had the car since October so want to make sure everything is sweet before I start messing about, got a few niggles to sort out here and there first. Not really done much so far other...

    Clio- door-help-locksmith?

If it's only two years old take it back to the dealership. If the lock has gone it should be covered under warranty?

Any suggestions on this engine sound?!?

There's still a bit of a bearing type noise where when it's warm too pal, all be it not as loud. Somethings definitely not right and when it's cold it's very chirpy. I know mine used to make a similar bearing noise as your warm video before I had everything changed and it's completely silent...

Any suggestions on this engine sound?!?

I wouldn't say the handling on the ST is bad, it's just to me the Clio offers more feedback through the wheel and you feel a bit more connected when you drive it hard if that makes sense. The brakes are superior on the Clio that's for sure but then your comparing Brembo 4 pots to standard single...

Any suggestions on this engine sound?!?

Yeah, you might as well enjoy it over the summer and if you still fancy a change after that put it up for sale towards the back end of the year. The new shape Fiesta ST? - I drove my mates a few weeks ago, it was nice, but I'm not sure it's a huge step up from the Clio really in terms of a...

Any suggestions on this engine sound?!?

Looks like the right kit but while he's got everything off why not buy the kit I posted from als-performance? That has a new de-phaser pulley too, which makes sense to replace while everything is off. It could well be that making the noise listening to the video again (if yours sounds the same...

    clutch suddenly gone stiff

You could try bleeding the clutch slave cylinder see if that helps, there's a guide on here somewhere iirc, but if that doesn't work I'd suspect somethings on it's way out and will likely mean a gearbox off job to fix! - So basically a new clutch job. Also check all the vac pipes going to the...

    ST 2.5 talk to me

I went out in a mates standard one a few years ago and in honesty I wasn't that impressed. The fun comes when you start messing with them, it's fairly easy to get ~300bhp out of them without breaking too much of a sweat or your bank account! They then become a very formidable point and squirt...

Any suggestions on this engine sound?!?

All you can do is what I suggested, take the aux belt off and start the car. If the noise is gone, a new aux belt kit should fix the issue. If it's not then you know it's likely to be something running of the cam belt, usually the water pump bearings start to go. Was the pump changed along with...

Any suggestions on this engine sound?!?

It could be something on the AUX belt side. How long ago was your cam belt service done? As a test you can remove the AUX belt and start her up, if the noise goes you know if it's related to that or not then. If not then my money would be on the water pump which is basically a cam belt change job.

    Cracked flexi joint

The other option is to keep an eye out on the for sale section/eBay for a used manifold that's had some new flexi's already welded in, buy and fit that, then you can get your old one fixed and sell it on to get a bit of money back. Be a far far cheaper option than forking out the best part of...

    Centre silencer delete

To be fair mate £80 isn't that much more than £50. I wouldn't try it yourself unless your comfortable with the process. If you end up messing it up you'll end up paying more to get it sorted! - Plus how old are the threads your reading? If they're a good few years old prices will have gone up...

    Powerflex engine mounts.

Everyone will have different opinions on what's too much vibration though that's the problem! I don't mind a bit more harshness, I think it makes the car feel a bit more raw and fun to drive but at the same time there is a limit to what I'd put up with. As said, the torque bush and lower insert...

How much do you think it's worth?

Sadly as soon as people see CAT C, it will put a lot of buyers out there, especially as there are plenty about and it's a buyers market at the moment. I think you'll struggle to get 5k for it but that being said the service history, mileage are good and if you have proof of repairs from either...

    Powerflex engine mounts.

I've got the lower dog bone mount and the torque arm bush. Spot on and it's what most recommend for that happy medium, I wouldn't like to add any more as there isn't really a need for road use. I've heard the upper mount and the gearbox mount can make it fairly harsh for day to day use. The...

200 Cup Seat belts in 197?

Are the number of pins in the plug different or the same? I'd be tempted to check the colors of the wires to see if they are the same. If they are you should just be able to splice them together and secure with a bit of electrical tape. Depends how comfortable you are doing that, or call an auto...

    Clio 197 flat spot

You could try the map sensor, mine was loose and I zip tie'd it down but in honesty it didn't make that much difference. The problem with Bluefin maps is they assume the car is standard, by adding an exhaust it alters the gas flow - even more so if you add a panel filter or put a cone on it...
