    Dont buy OEM brake pads

I would highly recommend ATE Super Blue fluid, you can get it off the shelf in most Eurocarparts. Not cheap though, but rated for very high tempretures!

    Renault Sport R3 Maxi mods

Solid engine mounts will be horrible on the road - different it it's a dedicated track car. You'll get engine vibration and probably gearbox whine all the time.

    Renault Sport R3 Maxi mods

Ah yes, having just re-read this: http://www.renaultsport.si/media/Predstavitvena_brosura_En.pdf you're right. Although it seems to have the V6 airbox on too. For those who can't open the PDF: New Clio Cup takes the best of the innovations made to the four cylinder 2.0-litre 16V (F4R RS)...

    Renault Sport R3 Maxi mods

I think the Cup racers run with a dry sump system, don't they? That releases a good 10-15bhp or so. The Cup and Formula Renault cars have pretty much identical engines to a road going RS 200 though from memory when reading up. Rich

    5-40 10-40 oil

Mobil 1 0W40 is great oil, might be worth a go to see what the oil consumption is like..

That 197 engine is a tuff nut to crack.....

I agree with Foxspeed.. my current car has 305bhp by the book and you're going silly speeds in 2nd gear very quickly - far too much power to enjoy on the road. That's why I've decided fun/handling over bhp is the way forward.. just waiting for my 200 to arrive - ugh! Rich

    Fuel Gauge won't update!

Indeed, I asked this question too.. if they stalled or turned the engine off, it's not going any further though. Bit of a design problem if you ask me, especially with the risk of car jacking etc. Rich

    PLEASE HELP...tunepoint.?

I thought the tunepoint was only available with the upgraded headset (ie.. bluetooth/USB etc)? Rich

    Question to 200 cup drivers.

Sounds fair, but aftermarket springs tend to settle over a matter of weeks, not months. I guess if you have all the right part numbers then I guess you have no choice other than to wait and see what happens. Rich

My Albi Blue - Clio 200

I specc'ed my car with a monitor pack... complete toy, but I' hoping to do some track days so info like oil temp is pretty handy to see. A recsll someone from RenualtSport saying they can't be retrofitted even to a 200 that didn't come with it. You can retro fit almost anything if you're...

200 vs DS3 R VS Corsa vxr and mini cooper s jcw

The mini (factory) JCW is a great bit of kit, I test drove one before the Clio 200... the engine is a masterpiece, easily mapped to 240+ bhp, yet will return over 40mpg on a run and 30.9 hooning it around on a test drive :D Shame the boot is tiny and the back seat leg room, even for a 6 yr old...

Thinking of Buying...2 Months down the Line

I ordered mine in December and they said it would be arriving mid-Feb... so I asked them to register it on 1st March so I get an 11 plate, just another 2 weeks wait. Last I heard they were saying "the system says it will be here before March, but this is only an estimate, we'll know a more...

    200 Vs 197

Before I bought my 200 (arriving in March!) I looked around for ages for one 2nd hand with all the toys I wanted (Recaros, USB, FF CUP etc). Couldn't find one under £15k and ended up paying about £18k for a spanking new '11' plate with just about every option ticked. On 0% finance from Renault...

1st Year service for the 200

Hmm, so they extended the service intervals to reduce the amount of used oil the cars produce? If it is 2 years, I'd be servicing mine annually.. Rich

    Colour coded diffuser

Looks grim to me.. one of the things I like most about the Clio is the 'tonka-toy' colour scheme that makes all the right bits stand out. Rich

    BCR8ES spark plugs ???

Ah spark plugs.. the snake oil that never stops giving. The OEM plug will be 100% perfect for it's application. If it's knackered or dirty then put new ones in.. job done. You only need to start changing manufacturers if the plug is failing early and you want something to last longer.. i.e. an...

    Help with panel filters?

Someone should do a test next time they're at a rolling road.. one run with a NEW OEM unit.. one with a NEW ITG filter and see if the rollers can see any difference. The school-boy mistake is to replace a manky old OEM filter with a spanking new aftermarket one.. surprise: the car runs better...
