    Sprint Booster Gen 2

Yeah the mapping thing is a bit different though as a UK-based mapping company doesn't really give two hoots if it runs well on Italian fuel in 40oC weather, where RenaultSport probably have to. Take out all the variables in fuel, temps and emmission regulations and it's probably relatively easy...

    Sprint Booster Gen 2

Are you seriously saying the throttle opens 70% when you floor the accelerator? or is this in their marketing blurb? Not saying it's a bad thing, hell, never used one, but from a technical point of view, when people are complaining about kargerooing from the agreesive throttle response I'd need...

    Sprint Booster Gen 2

Hmm odd, the one thing I wouldn't bitch about on the RS200 is the throttle response. Throttle response should have nothing to do with how the engine revs though, full throttle is full throttle spint booster or not. If you like it, it's money well spend though :) Rich

    Sprint Booster Gen 2

Revs better, are you sure? All they do is adjust the throttle signal to the ECU.. shouldn't have any impact to the engine performance at all. Rich

    Spongy Brakes

The pads don't seize as such.. but they seize into the caliper - so stop moving/sliding as they should. If you can get the pins out, then just remove the pads, clean them up with a wire brush (and the caliper where the pads sit) and reassemble. Personally, I'd smother the back of the pad in...

    My new motor!

Dull question.. sorry: What mpg do you typically see on normal drive and when druising on the motorway? Been very tempted myself... Rich

    How's this price sound?

I gave up a while back using online tyre places as most of the tyre garages around here charge the earth to get them fitted and balanced. I also used to drive a long way to get to Micheldever tyres who have great prices.. but then figured out I spent half the savings (and a couple of hours of my...

    Downsizing...

If you really want to save money, buy an old Golf Tdi with cash and run it into the ground. They rarely go wrong, very cheap to run/insure. *sigh* I wish the Council would continue to empty my garden waste bins 'for free', rather than suppliment staff car deals. ;) Rich

advice needed, going back to standard exhaust

Was it a 'live' map or a generic map that was put on your car? A generic one will be fine, it's only if they do a live map and tweak it to perfection with your mods you might have a problem. I very much doubt you'll have any problems though... Rich

    Hole in my engine!?!

Shocking workmanship.. to think they tried to cover up their cock-up! ..naughty! Good result though, good job you spotted it and the CS Manager was sound. Rich

    Exhaust question.

Stainless doesn't mean it'll last forever - it might not rust, but they have a habbit of cracking at the welds from heat cycles instead :( Rich

    Brake pads and discs

Be careful if you're having new discs and pads fitted the day before your track day.. you ideally need a few miles to bed them in properly before giving them a hammering on track! If the cheaper discs don't have the black paint, buy some hammerite :) Rich

    Spongy Brakes

Give the new fluid a few days. In the past, when doing DIY changes on my old cars, the brakes always felt a little spongy for a few days then just sorted themselves out. What fluid did you go for? I used ATE Super Blue last time around and it was awesome stuff! Rich

    DIY 200/197 Camera Mount

I used a simular thing on track days.. but it would work with any generic camcorder/camera with a camera thread on the bottom. i.e. - 1x 1" plank of wood - Drill 2x holes in line with headrest bars - Drill 1x hole just big enough for bolt to reach camera/corder - Take off head rest, slide on...

    Ferodo DS3000

When I ran a Nissan 200sx on a track day with a BBK and DS3000 it threw molten iron filings from the pads into my wheels. I'd only use them with track wheels - personally, unless all track pads do the same? That said.. they were AWESOME! Rich

    Well I Never

My experience, especially of the RenaultSport staff is excellent. Couldn't do more to help out when someone forgot to put my car on a transporter to the dealer :D Rich

    Petition about clio power figures...

Every Dyno Dynamics RR I've been to have done a full run-down to work out (rough) transmission losses. IF the dyno is setup correctly, uses real humitity, temp and gearing figures, it's normally pretty accurate when compared to a proper engine dyno. Personally, if there's a trend that nearly ALL...

    "Lasers could replace spark plug"

Oh good, so when your laser plug blows up, it'll cost £100 each to replace..? no thanks, spark plugs work perfectly well at £5 each. Rich

Clio 200 buying options (and hello!)

I use my car daily for work and the recaros are great, really finish the car off and very comfy even on long journeys. I also have the CUP suspension, which is great around town, but can get annoying on a lon motorway run, especially if you have sensible adults in the car with you! I opted for...

    would you upgrade now?

If they released a Clio IV with a 1.6 turbo engine I'd seriously consider chopping in my 200 for it, assuming it has all the handling/quality with better mpg, lower gearing and more torque (providing they give me a good PX price and finance). Rich
